Steelers/Eagles TONIGHT (1 Viewer)

Eventually people will start catching onto the fact that if the OL gives Maddox time, Burress will be the same guy he was in 2002.  He's had a  tremendous camp and preseason.
I am not a big Plaxico fan but I have to admit he appears to have a different approach this year. You can see that he's put on some muscle and appears to be in great shape. He's climbing on my draft board.Wouldn't have anything to do with this being the last year of his contract would it?
Everyone needs to shut the hell up. I am lying in the weeds for Plax in Round 7. STEAL !!! :D
Agree - he should be in the "perfect draft" as "after round 7" Round 6 = 1 round too soon for him (he went in the mid-6th in the staff mock we just did).
but what if he turns in a top 10 performance this season? Wouldn't that be worth the 6th rounder you burned on him?
You miss the point of "the perfect draft" article to ask that question.

 Why no Westbrook tonight? Just checked the game stats - no carries, no catches.
Someone several pages ago said they are resting Westie to figure what to do in replacement of C-Buck.

They're playing Journey....good God.Wait, Theismann just gave an enthusiastic endorsement of Journey, and in particular, Steve Perry's voice. I will now light myself on fire.
I hear that. Where's Dennis Miller when you need him? We would've gotten a 90-second riff on Journey that somehow would've looped in Yoko Ono, klezmer dancing and thalidomide. :hophead:

I had a draft tonight and picked up Duce in the 8th round as my #4, I'm thinking I got pretty good value there and he may end up as my #2 sooner rather than later. DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCE

Pat Summerall- "Last year the Steelers didn't win back to back games since 1969. Of course, Cowher wasn't the coach of the Steelers back then."

Thank you Pat!
I've listened to him the last couple ESPN games, he loses another brick from the wheelbarrow with every kickoff. It's as if the PKs are kicking him in the head every week, metaphorically speaking of course!

Lets get more opinions on Tapeh, Mahe & McCoo
I thought McCoo looked better than I expected. He seemed to hit the hole quickly. Of course it was against the backups.Mahe seemed tentative at times to me.Tapeh had one nice run and one where he got stuffed.

My question is this:If you strongly feel Burress will vastly outperform his draft position, but if you wait until the 7th round you run the risk of of not getting him, why wouldn't you grab him in the 6th to be sure? Provided there are no other WRs available you feel will come close to his numbers, I don't see it as a reach to grab him 1 round early.

In space Mahe looked very nice at times. That play he made in the two minute drill at the end of the first half showed a lot. The announcers (though I hate them) said, "Mr. Mahe, if you hadn't made the team, you just did."However, he had a couple of drops (also had a couple of catches) and didn't look that great to me running inside, although he punched in a short yardage TD. Once or twice in the flat it also looked like McNabb wanted to throw him the ball but he hadn't turned his head yet.Bottom line: imo he showed promise as a finesse back but definitely needs work.

Lets get more opinions on Tapeh, Mahe & McCoo
Mahe: There is no way he will not make the team (even before last night). Mahe is an AR guy meaning hardworker, young, smart and athletic. Mahe wont kill you will speed or power but he has good hands and will be a nice option in the WCO if need be. I dont know how well Mahe will pick up blitzing LB/DBs, but he will be used in a number of 3rd down sitautions. I was glad to see him get his TD last night as well as break of a nice (very nice) long (long for him) run. Mahe also returns kicks and a huge special teamer. BEfore the CBuck injury, Westy wasnt being planned to perform most of the PK/KR duties. With the CBuck injury I expect not to see him back there much if any.Tapeh: Not the bruiser I would have liked to see. Seemed a bit tentative to hitting the hole for a FB, nor did he seem to have much power. However he looks pretty tall, but I think his looks are deceiving as Kiper has him listed 6'1, 240. What I did like about Tapeh was his athleticism and speed for a 'FB' and his hands seem to be pretty amazing.Eric McCoo: This is who I was most interested in seeing (last game and this one). I havnt found any good links on his measurables, but here it lists him 5'10 214 which is nice size. I have really liked what I have seen from McCoo and I could see him filling in the in-between tackle running on CBuck. McCoo doesnt seem to have much explosiveness, but at this point we need someone who will be at least average and hope our system makes them better. Let me just say I am happy that McCoo doesnt look awfull. I would not be surprised to see McCoo overtake Mahe for running duties by mid season only because I dont think Mahe has the ability to even be a 10-15 carry back. Tapeh might be, but I think McCoo has a better shot.Fantasy Value: Outside of WestBrook I am not interested in drafting any Eagle RB/FB.JAA

I've got him currently as my WR21, I am targeting him hard at 7.04. I'm hoping the other 2 Steelers homers in my league don't bite too early, I think 7.04 is about the perfect spot to grab him - as a WR3, he has tremendous upside, IMHO.

Duce lasted until round 8 in your draft? No wonder you're 4X Champ... :D

Just got him as a WR3 in one of my leagues too
