No fantasy impact but certainly of interest to Steelers fans. Also Mike Tomlin said today that DE Aaron Smith may play Monday Night against the Ravens. S Ryan Clark and FB Dan Kreider may also be back.

Thanks for the infoBefore I even opened the post I thought to myself - "Why didn't they just cut this bum in preseason and keep Madison"Well, I guess it didn't really matter  I def think Madison is an all around upgrade and shows some promise, as does Willie Gay

....oh, and i wouldn't be disappointed if clark had to sit another week. The new A-Train, Anthony Smith looked very good as always last week.

I'd like to see him full time vs. Willis and the BAL offense

They should have cut him last year...about time.
He was a small school guy like Ike. Those types of guys take three to four years to be consistent so I'm not surprised they hung on to him. That said he was a complete waste. He couldn't even hold Scott Shields jock.

Wow - Colcough cut. A guy they traded up in round 2 to get. Bad pick there.
Yep. I remember scratching my head over that one...
There were rumors they were going to move up the year before that to grab another snall school DB, Rashean Mathis. They didn't, and went with Alonzo Jackson instead. I think they were trying to atone for that mistake, and in doing so, made another one.

As a Steelers fan, I hope to never see them trade up in the second round to grab someone again. I realize that they are taking shots at players with potential. But after missing on Alonzo Jackson, and now Colclough, hopefully they will stay put in round 2 from now on.

Hopefully with Woodley the Steelers have broken their "round 2 curse!"

I don't know if I'd go as far as to say never to trade up in Round 2. If a guy has really slipped and its at a position of need, I say go for it.After all they traded up for Polamalu, Holmes, and Sepulveda. Those are working out pretty good

Didn't see this posted here. Looks like the Brownies have picked up a spy for their rematch with the Steelers:

Browns put Washington on IR, claim DB Colclough Berea, OH (Sports Network) - The Cleveland Browns placed veteran nose tackle Ted Washington on injured reserve, and claimed cornerback Ricardo Colclough off waivers Wednesday. Washington, in his 17th NFL season, has played in five games this year and made nine tackles. He had started all 16 games last season, but has been dealing with knee problems that finally caught up to him, head coach Romeo Crennel said. Ethan Kelley has started the last two times the Browns opened a game in their base defense. Colclough was the Pittsburgh Steelers' second-round draft choice in 2004 out of Tusculum College - but was waived by the team on Tuesday. In 36 games as a backup and special teams player, Colclough collected 33 tackles, 28 special teams tackles, and one interception.

You win some you lose some...just like in fantasy drafting, you're never an expert/guru all of the time. They traded up in the 1st round to get Troy P. and that was great decision.

I don't understand this. They play them twice a year, are they really going to get that much more out of Colclough?

Browns just picked up Colclough to get insider Steeler knowledge. Good luck with that Brownies.

If they picked him up for his knowledge of how the Pittsburgh defense works then this looks like a great move ... for the Steelers.

If I remember correctly, the buzz was that the Titans were going to take Colclough in the 2nd (Tusculum is located in TN) and the Steelers moved up to grab him first. The Colts grabbed Bob Sanders at our original slot.

Could you imagine Polamalu and Sanders in the same backfield. :goodposting:
