Steve Johnson: After this year. (1 Viewer)

Eminence

As a Steve Johnson Dynasty owner, I'm not sure what the correct call is here. I've always liked this kids talent but some of the games he's put up this season aren't what I would expect consistently from him.

I feel as if his value may have peaked and it's likely to go downhill from here.

Can any Buffalo homers hint us in on what to expect from this kid; let's say next season. The possibility of a new QB: blah, blah, blah.

I'm feeling the need to sell him in the off-season.

I am definitely not confident in him repeating this year's success in the future, but I also don't know how much you can get from him in a trade either, as most people are wary of him as well.

Things can change on dime in the NFL, though. What if the Bills catch lightning in a bottle with their next starting QB?

How good were Saints offensive skill players looking going into 2006?

I've always felt like this stats were kind of flukey. But then again, Fitz is very likely to be our starting QB next year, and Johnson will probably be our primary WR again, so while I'd be looking to sell, I wouldn't just give him away either.

his best games were in the middle of the season. people will most likely remember that dropped td + god tweet he had a few weeks ago. buffalo is not a playoff team. unless buffalo drafts locker or mallet, there is nothing to get you excited about his prospects for next year.

i get the feeling he will be some what forgotten during the off season and pretty undervalued. he could drop past rounds 8 or 9 so he could represent some pretty good value in the draft going into next year

in dynasty, that means you won't get much for him but he won't cost much to get either. i think he would be a great candidate in a 1 for 2 deal, with him being the 3rd wheel in the deal

and for his numbers, wr3 with wr2 upside i guess

I don't know the inner workings of Buffalo's team, but I would have to think with an aging Lee Evans and a young core of offensive players, Stevie Styles will be their #1 for years to come. I think that his success depends on Fitz playing QB, but he has the attitude and swagger to be a success in this league. Stash him, at least for this year.

This guy is obviously talented putting up numbers like he has in that offense in Buffalo. Was there a reason he slipped to the 7th round in the draft? Anyone that followed him at Kentucky that can answer? Did he have injuries in college?

From what I understand he didn't play WR until his Junior year, had a mediocre season, and then in his Senior year had a very good season. With only one year of production I can see him not being draft very high. The impression I've gotten about Steve Johnson is that he is still learning how to play the position and it is entirely possible that he only gets better as he's still a very raw WR in terms of technique.

I am a little confused about why people are down on him..? He has proven week in and week out this season that he can play. Fitz has proven he should be an NFL QB. I have been pretty impressed with both guys and Fred Jackson this season. Spiller seems like a gadget guy at best. The Bills have a nice trio at WR and have some really solid young talent with Steve J, Lee Evans, Roscoe Parrish and D. Nelson.

The Bills defense really sucks. They need to draft all defense. The offense isnt the problem.

I think Steve Johnson will be a solid top 30 WR going forward regardless of QB. If he is able to keep Fitzpatrick for a few more years, I really like his potential to be top 15

He won't break top 10, maybe ever
He's top 10 through 15 weeks this year.
Yeah, he is a Michael Clayton clone.
not sure if you were serious with that statement or not, but there are serious differences between the 2 of them. Clayton managed to do it his rookie season, where maybe the NFL had not been paying enough attention to him or something? We all saw what happened after the CBs had an offseason to study his tendencies.Johnson on the other hand is finally breaking out in his 3rd season, now that he finally got some playing time. I am hoping of more of a Roddy white type career for him, although that would obviously be a best case scenario...

Sell him high while you can, going forward i see him having mostly 800 yard 7 TD seasons, still good but not as good as a player you could get for him

I should have added in dynasty rankings. One season on the cusp of top 10 does not move him into top 10 rankings.
You can't make that statement look intelligent without a time machine. Nice try though.
He's #12 in my league. Just saying. And I knew Brandon Lloyd was having a good year but he's the #1 WR this year....Id have to say longterm, Id much rather have Stevie Johnson over Lloyd
