Sure, I think it is very likely. The #10 WR in a given year gets roughly 1150 yards and 8 TDs. He already has 178 yards and 2 TDs, so as long as he can get 950 yards and 6 TDs over the next 15 games, he should be right about there.
Well, he now needs about 800 yards and 6 TDs over the next 14 games...although it was my own post where I gave the rough number of the #10 WR in a given year. with these pinball numbers we are seeing, we are probably going to have to bump that a bit...although I still see Smith sneaking in there.

After yesterday's game it's a stretch to see how he fails to get top 10 barring injury to himself or Newton. If 1150 yds 8 TDs is about the top 10 threshold, he needs to average 58 yards and 0.4 TD per game over the next 14 games to make it happen. Reproject 58-0.4 over 16 games and that's 930-7. His preseason FBG projections were 850-5. The tick up required from preseason projections is not very big except 40% more TDs. Based on what we have seen so far, not many would bet on under 5 TDs the rest of the year, and he should beat the yardage part easily.

Smith was such a beast and mad man yesterday that only four players on the Panthers got more tackles than him! :P
