Steven Hawking Dies- RIP (1 Viewer)

The greatest enemy of knowledge is not ignorance, it is the illusion of knowledge.
Oooh, nailed me.

I'm more interested in your thoughts on the no-boundary proposal. Granted, I'm assuming you're probably a relatively dumb guy like me, and it's something that neither of us are really equipped to speak intelligently about.

There's a really interesting documentary series on YouTube called Before The Big Bang.

Well...that’s just like your opinion, man.

I like to think that he was working in transcendental math combining physics and philosophy and that upon figuring out his ultimate equation he simply transcended to another plane of existence, or to several others at once, including one where he is built like Steve Reeves and he gets to power slam a young Rachel Welch while giving physic lectures to non-carbon based life forms while snorting lines of god particles.

His passing has left an intellectual vacuum in his wake. But it's not empty. Think of it as a kind of vacuum energy permeating the fabric of spacetime that defies measure. Stephen Hawking, RIP 1942-2018.

I agree, especially considering he died on Pi day.

He was an amazing man.  Most people would have folded their hand after that grim diagnosis at 21 but he fought on.  He brought some new but controversial ideas into the scientific community.  He also leaves three proud children to carry on his legacy.

One of his lesser known but equally impressive accomplishments was starting a dance tradition for special needs kids.  It was modeled after the Daryl Dawkins dance, but instead of the girls choosing her partner...well you understand.

Hawkins also had a great sense of humor and was on the big bang theory television show.  He was the most entertaining character that episode.  That may be more of a commentary on the show but he was a funny guy.

Here's to science!  We lost a great one this week.
