With Alexander out and LJ struggling, could Jackson overtake LT as the most coveted RB in fantasy?

LJ is outperforming Jackson in both PPR and non-PPR leagues, so the question's basic premise is flawed. LT is also outperforming Jackson. As are Tiki Barber, Kevin Jones, Westbrook, and Gore. They are all doing this in both PPR and non-PPR leagues. Jackson is a mid- to low-end RB1, depending on your scoring system.

Sober up.
It is a legitimate question, no need for the sarcasm. He is ahead of LT, Westbrook, Gore, K Jones in yds per game. Slightly behind LJ. Tiki is the only one who has the decisive advantage in yds/game...but alas, Tiki has zero TDs.

If he doesn't score more TDs, then he won't catch up to LT...although if SD gets large leads, we may see Turner take some yards and TDs away from LT.

Everyone tends to agree that LJ is having a tough time behind his line. I see no reason why Jax cant put up betyter numbers than him.

K Jones, Gore, Westbrook...nothing overly exciting about them that makes me think they will outperform Jax over the year.

So, is it likely that he will finish as the number 1, no.

However, I would take him over Jones, Gore, Westbrook in a second. And a case could be made for him to be chosen over LJ and Tiki from here on out.
No. It is within the realm of possibility, but it is NOT likely. Your argument about LT is weak... he's got a nose for the endzone and SJax is end-zone allergic.SJax runs too high and dances too much to score TD's consistently.
I don't think it's a legit question. LT has caught over 100 balls in a season... LT catches TD's just as easy as he runs for TD's... Oh yeah... LT even throws for TD's. And the Turner nonsense was put to rest last week. San Diego had over a 20 point lead deep into the 4th when LT scored his 4th TD. Turner should've been in there but wasn't.B/C of this I think the question is biased and flawed. Basically, we could sit here all day and arbitrarily pick RB's to annoint as the new #1. Until Jackson starts pacing like an LT stop comparing him to an LT.

Jackson has never done any of this nor has he shown he could do any of this. Don't' get me wrong, I love the guy.. I watch him... I own him...

but that's where it ends

Amazing how much hatred get spewed towards a guy who is no doubt a top 5 fantasy RB (in ppr leagues, which is more than 1/2 leagues out there...)

If he had 2 or 3 more TDs nobody would be talking about how he is barely a RB1...y'all would be waiting in line to annoint him the next great thing. Get over yourselves.

I understand the whole disagreeing with posters to make for good debate. But when you resort to such hyperbole (Jax is no better than a low end RB1, his team has no faith in him to punch it in, etc) you sound like complete disgruntled owners who passed on him at #4 or 5 and are living with Rudi as your RB1

over half huh? i'd love to see a link to that claim. btw, watch a game once in a while and you will see it's not trolling or some grudge...he's just THAT underwhelming.

go back and watch the detroit game and tell me if jackson got any "money yards" the truth of the matter is that he gets one pop at the end zone and then they pass, do they do that in Seattle? San Diego? K.C? even in Dallas Jones/Barber get 3 chances to punch it in from the goal line.

its not Vernand Morency we're talking about here, I fully believe Jackson will have a great second half, and while he wont finish #1 he will be in the top 7

:lmao:Sjax must've pushed Gris Allmoon in the mud when they were kids or something. He's averaging 125yds/game but he's only near the top because of other guys being injured/underperforming? :lmao:
What? You sound like you are in agreement with me that he is well deserving of his ranking, but you say he did something bad to me to make me view him the way I do...
Whoops, I meant to say Callas Disregard not you, your name was just in my head because it was the last post I read.

You know who else is really underwhelming to watch? Shaun Alexander. Underwhelming to the point where every year there is a thread about him being overrated as an NFL RB, just a product of his great line, etc.I'm not trying to stir up that argument again, but my point is that this thread is talking about FF production and we've seen a guy that's very underwhelming put up dominant FF numbers already, so even if Sjax is underwhelming to watch I'm not really buying that as an FF argument as long as the numbers are there.

His numbers are pretty far from dominant. Alexander, LJ, LT last year were dominant.

No one really knows if this guy will finish #1. Does he have the potential? Maybe. If anyone could actually predict the outcome of a player then why would FBG even be needed.

Debates can be good but some take it way too personal as if they are getting paid for there thoughts.

You can call him "underwhelming" all you want, doesn't change the fact that his 124 yards a game place him just below LJ for third place in football. Only Tiki, with his monster day Sunday has more yards a game.It is the touchdowns that are keeping him from challenging LJ or even LT for top fantasy running back. It is not how many catches he gets, nor is it running style, and it certainly is not his underwhelming ability. He will in all likelihodd not get enough touches in the redzone to bump up his fantasy value. However, he is out performing many players who were drafted right before or right after his slot (Rudi, Portis, Edge, etc). So, I will take solace in the fact that he is likely to see a bit of a bump in his TD totals in the next half of a season, which, will (in ppr leagues, which is more than half, at least according to a poll done here a but back) push him up into the top 5 without a doubt, and, and if he gets a few TDs in bunches, he could challenge anyone for the 2nd spot in fantasy football.I think he will have to wait until next year to overtake LT :o

Ok guys, that was the original post. It does NOT say that Jackson IS better than LT. It does NOT say Jackson WILL BE better than LT. It poses a legitimate question.IMO Jackson's ceiling this year is #2 overall, right behind LT. IMO his floor (barring injury) would be #10, along with R. Brown, Gore, and some others. I think he finishes at #4, ahead of Westbrook (will miss more games due to the knee). I think he ends up behind LT and LJ, and possibly right alongside Tiki (assuming red zone carries continue to go to Jacobs).
