How many teams? Starting requirements? Is it 2 QB or SF? Draft style? Is the IDP scoring similar to the offense scoring (ie - are there as many IDP players in the top 20 as offensive players)? Scoring system on the IDP side (tackle heavy or big play)?
All of those questions need to be answered to properly give advice. In general try and remember that the point is to win the league and not always be planning for the future. By that I mean, some people go overboard with needing to go young and pass up some great value of older players that are still performing well. Usually in a start up you can get guys with 2-3 yrs left of solid performance very cheap as people are trying to hit on upside.
I also look at 2-3 yr increments only for evaluation purposes. Anything over that has too many variables that affect performance.
