**Streaming Defense** Weeks 14-16 FF Playoffs (1 Viewer)

By Wentz factor do you mean he'll play awesome and some how pull out a win? Cause that'd be great but I don't think that's good for Pitt

Hey hey hey I gotta back my brother up! You realize the Eagles D isn't exactly the little sisters of the poor right? Don't be so sure Pitt is "gonna get up big." Also, the Steelers haven't won in Philly since like 1965. Just sayin'...
marinating the crow as we speak.  i can't believe this game!

agreed.  and enjoy the #### out of it!  did you know that the steelers haven't won in philly since 1965?  :)
Well, you're a class act man. I can hardly get my head wrapped around this. Good win for  your team by the way coming across country.

I have Carolina and Buffalo in a league with limited moves so I can't really stream.

Feeling pretty good about Buffalo after today.

With the Eagles performance against the Steelers (arguably the best offense in the league even w/o Bell), are the Eagles becoming a must start?

They are.  They also turn it over
Not really.  Carr has one INT and Amari Cooper two fumbles one went out of bounds the other was on that crazy multi-lateral play with two seconds left in the fourth quarter of the Falcons game last week.  And that one was recovered by Oakland.

They have also only given up two sacks in three games.

That being said the Baltimore D looks like the real deal and Elvis should be back in the building in a week or two which will only make them better.

Even though it hasn't worked, I might still chase clv.  Was has a nice matchup with them

I dumped them for the Giants last week but now I am a believer.   I plan on picking the Eagles back up even though they are on a bye just to make sure that I get them back.

Bucs were the best thing on my wire last week & in our format scored 13.25, good for 7th best DST (& out scored the NYJ whom I dropped.)

Dropping them to take a flyer on the Chargers. They've been decent the last couple weeks & at home versus the Saints who will be coming off MNF.

TBH streaming defenses hasn't been a great strategy to date in 2016.

Washington lost Breeland and Hall and isnt good.
Cleveland just went into hot Miami and almost stole one with putting up 30 points.

Most generous offenses so far after three games (e.g., most FFPA to DT):

 1. New York Jets
 2. Indianapolis Colts
 3. Tennessee Titans
 4. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
 5. Carolina Panthers
 6. Miami Dolphins
 7. Arizona Cardinals
 8. Jacksonville Jaguars
 9. Cincinnati Bengals
 10. Cleveland Browns
 11. Los Angeles Rams
 13. New York Giants
 14. Kansas City Chiefs
 15. Seattle Seahawks
 16. Baltimore Ravens
 17. Houston Texans
 18. San Francisco 49ers
 19. Pittsburgh Steelers
 20. Denver Broncos

The common denominator among top four is they are the only teams that have allowed multiple TDs to the opposing DT, so perhaps limited predictive value due to sample size.

Someone suggested raising the rosters from 16 to 18 to encourage trading (e.g., less on the WW) in my main redraft league.

We have 20 defenses rostered.

:loco:

Still thinking Skins this week.  Can the Browns really put up a good fight again...
I'm off of CLE for the foreseable future, or at least I'm looking at them differently.  Basically, they are an average offense rather that a terrible offense.  If I'm streaming, I'm looking for the worst possible matchup and CLE just isn't offering that right now.  Their schedule has been PHI, BAL, MIA so far.  PHI is being touted as a must-start each week, and BAL is looking good on D as well (at least a viable streaming option), and MIA is, well, MIA.  Anyway, these are the fantasy points accumulated by those defenses over the first 3 weeks based on one league's scoring system (sacks, turnovers, yards allowed, points allowed):

BAL 14(buf) 13*(cle) 18(jax)
PHI 15*(cle) 15 (chi) 18 (pit)
MIA 13(sea) 4(ne) 8*(cle)

So CLE actually did the BEST against BAL and PHI compared with the other teams they have played and only NE did better that CLE as an opponent of MIA.  So yeah, they are basically giving up FEWER fantasy points that other teams against elite (PHI), decent (BAL), and crappy (MIA) defenses.

I'm going to try to get PHI and NE on all my teams - both are actually available in my leagues because A) I either have them already, or B) they are available on the WW.  Back to the context of this thread - I am NOT playing any defenses against CLE going forward and I don't really expect that to change.

Agree with your logic but there's nothing out there in my league. If I don't go Washington, options are Jax, Detroit, NYG and NYJ. Maybe Jets since they get Seattle at home, but I don't feel good about the matchup.

Ultimately I would just rather face Kessler than Wilson.

Given those options i agree with WAS. But i would temper expectations instead of expecting a dominant defensive performance.

So a couple of things. Grab Philly where you can. With the bye maybe people will hesitate to scoop them up.

For this week, there's 2 plays I'm seeing as the only real options. Both are risky but could play out big.

Buffalo at New England. NE will either have a hurt Jimmy G going back under center or picking up a FA to throw to the wolves. Either way, they will be extremely limited. Unless Hoodie has some more voodoo, the offense will be the least explosive they've been in years.  Buffalo is showing as only 38% owned on Yahoo.

The other play is NYJets vs Seahawks.  A lot may be thinking Seattle is back but they just tunes up the Patented Chip Kelly "we don't need no stinkin" defense. Now they may have worked some kinks out but they were pretty terrible weeks 1 & 2. I think they fall somewhere in the middle this week and are flying all the way East on top of it. Expect a let down after an emotional division win over one of Carroll's most hated foes. Jets defense has quietly amassed 9 sacks in 3 games. Don't expect a monster game but it should get you through the week with a double digit total.

Thats all I can see for the week fellas. Every one else is a crappy team with a mediocre matchup. Some may blow out but I can't guess which one.

It's a quiet 9 sacks because 7 came in Week 1 v. Bengals.

I'm considering them. Love their schedule beyond the @ ARI game sans the 2 v. Hoodie.

Other options:

the aforementioned Chargers @ home versus a weary Saints team

Cowboys @ SF

JAX v. Indy

DET @ CHI (Lions have won 6 straight in series)

Slim pickings

I'm using Washington this week, but I just dropped Tajae Sharp to get Philly defense on their bye. I think they'll be elite ROS.

I'm trying Cinci again - at home - short week vs Miami.

They stunk in their home opener vs Denver.
Yes if we don't stream and just keep sticking with Cincy all year, eventually they have to become a good option.  They are supposed to be a good real-life NFL defense.  Right?  right?

I picked them up last week on waivers, nobody knows. They got shredded by Siemian.
