Stud Drafting theory (1 Viewer)

Hey folks:

I play in a 2QB leage with 3 WR's, 2RB's, 1TE, 1K, 1 DEF and 1 RB/WR - I am looking to implement some of the strategies on the board such as QBBC and RB2BC. In all my past years drafting I would usually select my 2nd QB and 2nd RB before round 5 - this is a 0.5 pt per reception league.

This year I would like to ensure I get 4 Studs in the first 4 rounds of the draft - Ie players who are unquestionable MVP's in fantasy football at their position.

So can we get a list going for concensus studs.

RB:

LT

ADP

Brian Westbrook

Steven Jackson

WR:

Terell Owens

Randy Moss

QB:

Tom Brady

Peyton Manning

Tony Romo

Drew Brees

Carson Palmer

At first glance it looks like there are more QB's studs than any other position. How could I apply this to my draft? I would like as many 1st tier studs as possible. Historically mid-season there is a better chance of a QB or RB emerging to put up stud numbers than there is for a WR.

In this format does it make sense to take the 10th and 11th picks and use the on Moss and TO than try to fill your lineup from there?

You start 11 guys? How many teams in the league? I would make one of those picks RB if you can. Personally I don't know if you'll have the option of Moss at 10

I use a similar approach. I make a studs lists that usually has around 18 to 20 names. That's my draft list until they are gone. I don't care if I draft 4 wr in the first 4 rounds. I'll draft someone from that list until they are all gone. It's worked very well for me but it has made for some strange looking teams! Here are my changes to your list:RBAdd AddaiWR Add Andre JohnsonAdd Braylon EdwardsAdd Reggie WayneAdd Larry FitzgeraldQB - keep in mind that I've never played in a two QB league. With experience on that, I might be inclined to keep Palmer and add more names.Drop Palmer
