STUD OF THE WEEK (1 Viewer)

Yes - you are definitely alone on this one. I think he'll be good for typical Willis type #s: Maybe 80 yards and a TD. I wouldn't be shocked if he gets 100 yards and no TDs, though....

I have to say, I am very disappointed with him thus far in his career. I was so used to seeing him destroy teams in college --- that injury must have really hurt his ability.

I would not surprised to see Buffalo stack 8-9 in the box either and try to take him out. McGahee has been complaining this week about being beat up from last week's game.

Buffalo has done well against the run its past two games. With a week off to prepare for the Ravens, they should do well in limiting McGahee. I don't think they are too worried about a Boller-lead, Heap-less Ravens passing offense.

Buffalo is almost certainly going to stack the line against the Ravens. Their WRs haven't been impressive at all. And after McGahee trashed Buffalo so much when he left, I think that the Bills would rather give up 3 long TD passes then let McGahee have a decent day.

The guy just had 25 rushes for 61yds and 4 catches for 9 yards. against the RAMS. getting excited about Willis McGahee is only sightly more nessecary than getting excited about plain, dry toast.

The problem is that defenses are not very worried about the Ravens passing game. Rightfully so. Willis will still get his mediocore points this week. I may sit him for Portis. The bills have a decent run defense and will probably try and make the Ravens beat them through the air. Mason will catch 8-10 passes but they don't go anywhere. By the way, the Ravens do not make the playoffs this year. 9-7 at best. probably 8-8.

ogden is about one more missed week away from going on IR...I have limited my hopes for Willis this season.

As a stover owner... I cant argue with the lack of TDs

The Ravens are still likely to be starting at least 2 rookies on the O line, maybe 3 like last week. They are in a defensive crouch heading into this last game before their Bye, hoping to eke out another win vs. Buffalo like they did vs. SF and STL, totally counting on the defense, Matt Stover, and no mistakes with Boller leading the offense.

I think 80 yards and 1 TD (maybe receiving) is all you can hope for from Willis.

:useless: That's just how I'm seeing it. The Ratbirds are playing things close to the vest through the lesser part of the schedule, trying to get some very key personnel healthy before the brutal second half. Heck, who are we kidding? Any kind of offensive explosion from them is to be unexpected indeed, even if everybody is healthy. But with McNair, Heap, Ogden, etc. down for the count still, I would expect the Bills' defense to be very capable of keeping this thing close and typically low-scoring. The Ravens Oline is green, green, green. Potentially good, but still green.

Yeah, I think the Bills come in "fired up" to stop Willis after his comments in the off-season before the trade. I'm debating whether to start him or MJD. I think McGahee is the safe pick as he'll get 20+ carries, with 8-14 points in most leagues. MJD could be anywhere from 4 to 24 points. I think I may got with the HR hitter in MJD.

Yeah I have MJD, KJ, and Thomas Jones. That's why I traded for Bush. I need explosive playmakers out there so McGahee while consistent won't explode for big points on any given week.

He is currently in a 3 way tie for fifth in our PPR league. Granted he hasnt had a bye and some around him have, but for a RB #2 (again in PPR) I like his numbers. They arent huge blow up games, but they arent 1 pointers either. I like his consistency as a #2. I dont see how you can be disappointed with top 10 producition out of your second RB.ETA: I am considering benching him this week against Buffalo's improved run D and starting Faulk if Maroney is declared inactive as my RB#3. We can start 3 RB's (FWP #1, LJ #2)

I'm not disappointed with him either - this is exactly what I expected when I signed him (auction league). I just don't think he's the STUD OF THE WEEK, as the thread title suggests. Of course, I have to question how excited you can be about him if you're willing to start Kevin Faulk over him. I question any RB being a solid #2 if they can be replaced by Kevin Faulk in your lineup (no matter the injury circumstances). It's possible that Faulk puts up a 1 point game, and I think his upside is limited.

80 and a TD would be a miracle.Expect 30 yards total with that OL and Buffalo fired up to shut him down.

Most of the animosity between Willis & Buffalo was with the fans and not the players, so I think that angle is way overdone. Still, he's played cake defenses all year & couldn't average 3ypc against the freaking Rams, so "stud of the week" would surprise me.

Boller starting should help the passing game and loosen up the running game but that injured line throws up a red flag to me. Non PPR league, I'm starting LJ & Portis over Willis.

Hehe. Good call...NOTSo far 112 yards rushing and a 42 yard TD and the second half just started. Not sure why everyone is hating on McGahee. He has been pretty solid this year.
