Stuff to do in Cincinnati (1 Viewer)

Reds aren't in town this weekend but if you are a baseball fan and down by the stadium, I would recommend the Reds HOF.

The Reds are in STL, but 10 local high schools are playing games at the ball park Friday late afternoon/evening, and Saturday morning/afternoon. Weather is not supposed to be too pleasant though, saw some calls for possible snow.

If you feel like you want to check it out, PM me, I know a guy down there.

If you like soccer FC Cincinnati is playing Sunday at 4:00.
Great suggestion. The atmosphere at an FC Cincinnati game is fantastic. They draw very well so it will be a good crowd, the team is competitive and prices are very reasonable since they aren't yet top level (but they have a bid in to jump to the MLS).

I liked the Montgomery Inn/Boathouse. Nice walk along the rive from the ball parks. I'm not a local tho.
Another good suggestion. Besides good food and a nice view of the river if you're a sports fan it has a lot of memorabilia throughout the restaurant (signed jerseys, pictures, trophies, etc).

We got one down here in Florida.

Imo, Wendy's chili crushes Skyline's. But maybe the Skyline in Cincinnati tastes better.
I'll give my standard answer on this:

The worst thing those Greek/Macedonian immigrants did back in the day (though I get it) was rename their traditional Greek meat sauce (Saltsa Kima), 'chili'.  Its not chili its a meat sauce.  You don't eat a bowl of it and expect it to be like traditional chili.  Its a topping and freaking great served correctly: on top of pasta or in a coney with a ####-ton of cheese. Enjoy, and don't get so freaking hung up on 'chili'.  Its an ethnic food like anything else that's different and people get used to.  I hate that they did that, but alas I can't stay mad at 'em.

one neat thing to do in cincy is to get in a car and drive somewhere else take that to the bank brohans

im just causin trouble i like cincy its a nice looking city with the mountains and rivers and bridges galore sorry just saw and easy one there and took it sorry cincymigos take that to the bank

Go to Marion's Pizza in Mason.  Not far past I275.  Get the pepperoni, sausage, mushroom.

I would kill for that pizza.
Look, I love it as much as you do, but people who didn't grow up in Dayton will not get it. Not a good recommendation for an out-of-towner.

I'll add that Montgomery Inn is another bad recommendation.  Chili's probably has better ribs.

Makes sense ...unless he is a pizza lover and wants to try what is the popular pizza in areas he visits.

If you're going to eat pizza, go to Marion's rather than LaRosa's (sorry Odin).

if you are in to jeeps you could drive on some rocks or a bad stretch of road in cincy and that would rule take that to the bank brohans

Chilis will probably give you a better side than whatever those chips Montg Inn has.

To be fair, seems like everything here has Mt. in its name anyway: Mt. Adams, Mt. Airy, Mt. Lookout,, Then on the KY side it's all Fort Thomas, Fort Wright, Fort Mitchell....

Agreed.  Quite a few other much better BBQ places (Eli's, Big Art's).

I don't mind the Montgomery Inn recommendation though.  Assuming he would be going to the Boathouse, the atmoshphere/experience alone is worth it for an out-of-towner.

Otherwise known at Interstate 75 (although it's gotten better since they started doing construction on a 5 mile stretch 10 freaking years ago).

I"m sure someone has already mentioned it, but if you are a steak guy (if you aren't, GTFO out of our city fruitcake), you need to go to a Ruby's restaurant.  Get into Precinct if you can.  You will not regret it.  Annually voted in the Top 10 steakhouses in the country.  If you can't get in there, there is Jeff Ruby's Steakhouse across from the Aronoff which is also fantastic.

The Precinct also used to be a Cincinnati Police Patrol House (hence the name), so it has some history if that interests you.
