I don't remember EVER seeing so many returns from 4+ yards back in the end zone.

There's been talk across the league that the "decision line" is now 3-5 yards deep in the EZ - but talent assessment and blocking have to be a factor too.

If the Eagles don't jump out to huge leads, they're going to have trouble winning close games because they absolutely can not stop the run. Those LBers just plain suck. As always for Andy Reid.

The scheme isn't helping. Leaving your DEs outside of the tackles leaves six gaps for the two DTs to cover. Four gaps left for 3 LBs who are already not strong. Anyone else see an issue there? Move a DE to the C gap now and then and help for run defense.

I agree, but isn't that pretty much how the Eagles have done things for years? The DEs always seem to just pin their ears back and rush outside to the QB as fast as they can, no matter the game situation. Cullen Jenkins was really supposed to be the guy that they were hoping clogged up the middle and make plays in the running game. They need a Haloti Ngata or Kevin Williams type clogger in the worst way.

It all depends. If he's playing 1-gap and rushing it doesn't help. If they had a 2-gap DT / NT, that'd be different.

IMO, the Eagles need to run the ball more to start games. It would help slow the pass rush from teams down and keep Vick off his back. If teams have to respect the run more from the beginning, Vick will get more time in the pocket.Oof, another drop from Jackson. What's up with his dropsies early this season? I'm honestly going to have a heart attack from stress watching our defense. It's simply amazing how WIDE open they let guys get. Our defense is just awful so far this season. Every snap reminds me of the playoff game from last year.
