Sunday Ticket first timer (1 Viewer)

I checked the DirecTV FAQs before posting here, but I wanted to make sure of a couple of things before I start moving TVs around and running cables for tomorrow:

1. All 3 of my receivers will be broadcasting Sunday Ticket?

I have the main HD receiver in the L/R and 2 B/R receivers that I planned on running into the L/R for the games.

2. Do I need to connect the receivers to a phone jack for any reason?

When I subscribed the agent told me to make sure I did this, but it looks like everything is already setup when I go to the NFL channels on my program guide. I just don't want 1pm tomorrow to come around and I get no games. Isn't the phone jack connection for updates? I have my main receiver connected to my network already.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts. Wishing it was Sunday morning already!

Yes, all three receivers will show the ticket. No, the phone line isn't necessary. Enjoy!

Oh, and so you%re not confused tomorrow...

Games that are broadcast on your local channels are "blacked out" on the Sunday Ticket channels. So if you%re in Philly (for example), you%ll need to go to your local Fox channel to see the Eagles, not the Sunday Ticket channel for that game.

The Ticket should be on all your receivers. And if it's already set up on those receivers, you should NOT need the phone jacks connected.I move the receiver from my L/R to the F/R and never have a problem. I think when they set that receiver up for me there was some issue about me not being able to plug it into a phone jack, so they waived the requirement. I think it's an administrative thing rather than a technical thing.

Cool, I read up on the blackout rules. I know I'll have to watch the Titans on my local channel. Thanks for the help. Any other tips I should know before kickoff tomorrow?

Looks like the redzone channel is going to be my best friend.

I was just going to say, put one of the receivers on the RZ channel and leave it. You get all the red zone action, plus highlights of every score. It's addicting.

Once you experience the wonder that is the Red Zone Channel, you might end up bringing only one of the bedroom receivers into the living room -- turn the HD set to the Red Zone Channel, and the bedroom receiver to the Titans (if they're the team you care about most).

I'm so addicted to the Red Zone Channel ... it really did change my NFL viewing habits last year to the point that I'm a full-scale fantasy junkie who cares more about watching all the games in part, than any one game in total. Of course, the Ravens' season might have had something to do with that.

sunuvabee - we probably live within a stones throw of each other. Enjoy the ticket neighbor.
I'm in T. Station/Spring Hill area
Same here. Off of Buckner. :X I got the sunday ticket last yr for first time. The only drawback is that you find yourself interested in other games besides Titans if you have a big fantasy matchup... This year I am committed to titans 100% watched but redzone in commercials.

Just moved here in May so I don't have a favorite team. I have a feeling I'll be  tomorrow at noon with so many choices.I'm off of Buckner too, but this town is so small just about everybody is, right?

I've had DTV (and Sunday Ticket) for three years in 2 homes. I have NEVER hooked my receiver up to a phone line, not even when I first got it.

You can even still get pay-per-view without the phone line...use the internet or call them to order!
