If you're a GGRP and you get run up, do you hang around and help the village or do you completely disappear? I find, more often than not, when someone's faking, they stop posting. Just an observation. I realize this will work itself out.

If Matts isn't the real angel, then whoever is the real angel got a wham last night, right? Which means the BGs know who he is, so he might as well come forward and counter if Matts is lying.

Not if the angel didn't self-protect.

I'm pretty sure I taught Matts, in a previous game when we were both BGs, "If you're going to fake angel, make sure you say you protected yourself on N1, because that's what a real angel would probably do." He didn't take my advice that game, unfortunately.I wonder if he's doing that now? Of course, on the other hand, he could be the real angel and have taken that advice as well.

I'm going back to my Fuller vote. Saying "vote Yuk, if Yuk is good vote Keys tomorrow" is an incredibly wolfy statement. Admitting that he knew Keys was faking about the view and continuing to vote for Keys anyway just makes it look worse imo. I would rather leave the extreme low-fliers to our vig.

I don't see BG Keys pulling that fake view stunt, but that's just me. If he is I will be surprised.I also don't think if a BG got a few votes on D2 that a fellow BG would go to bat for him the way you are suggesting I am doing for Keys.

IMO most BG's are all about going with the flow and not ruffling feathers, especially this early in the game. I think most BGs are either voting for the LVG, voting for a lowflier, or not voting at all right now.

Yeah, as far as I could tell. I haven't really seen anyone make what I would consider a good vote so I went out on my own.

I'm still not convinced he's telling the truth - and obviously, no need for the angel to come out, but if there was a wham last night, why would he claim angel? Wouldn't the BGs already know who the angel is then, assuming the angel protected himself?

This is a good point actually. If you think you have a bead on the angel then faking angel isn't very useful unless you plan on leaving the angel alive for quite a while.

The question is - how effective is he going to be now that he's outed? We don't really believe him, and he's not really trying to lead the village, so it's not like we have someone that's confirmed either.

I think I've started each game this way and I haven't been a BG yet.

I think I've explained it already but here you go - on D1 it seems we're just shooting in the dark, so let's kill a few (thin the herd) to try and get clues on who is BG.

I'm just a n00b though, so please explain to me how an experienced player figures out who is bad on D1. TIA

Normally D1 is a crapshoot - but here you seemingly had a view to base your vote on. So, the concept of thinning the herd seems a bit out of place at the point of the game.

Based on my limited experience outed angels, or any GGRP, are usually worthless.At the same time the village doesn't need to do the BGs work for them. I'm not as convinced as others that he is lying but I agree with others that the situation will take care of itself.

Outed angels are not useless, and in fact, can become more of a problem for the BG's depending on the situation. If the BG's don't have a block/manip then an outed angel can still do good work.

Sorry gents. Was dealing with other things.If you want my take on the situation, here it is. Right now we're eating a #### sandwich served to us by Keys. We should have some good D1 voting history to work off of but with his, "I have a viewing item, kinda sorta" we're basically playing D1 over again but down bodies. The only thing close to it IMO is looking at the early on voters for Yuk since Keys basically handed them a gift but even that is suspect.In the best case, Keys is a BG who is playing 3rd level wolf. In the worst case, he pulled a stunt which should be discouraged for future behavior. I'm not sure who to vote for that's better than him.

I think you may have been the only person who believed that there was even a remote chance that he had a viewing item.
