Suspicious trade in my dynasty league (1 Viewer)

Hi guys. I am a commissioner of a long standing dynasty league with a group of friends from childhood.

12 team league, auction style drafts with a 3 round nfl style rookie draft each year.

Players can be signed to contracts after having them for 2 years in your squad and held up to 7 years total.

With regards to trading we are generally VERY lax about it. The rule is that unless the trade reeks of collusion or is egregiously unfair, the 2 co-commissioners (I'm one of them) will just push it through.

Team "motos" has been a perennially crappy team since the league started. He is one of those owners who always jokes about how he is so not into fantasy football anymore and has no time for it, and makes fun of the guys in the league who put a lot of time into it.

Motos are completely out of contention this year and announced to the league several weeks ago that he is willing to trade away star players for young promising future studs and picks in the rookie draft.

Team "your moms pimp" won the super bowl last year and is right in the thick of it this year.

The owners of both teams are great guys and close friends of mine, and I don't THiNK they would collide, but I just can understand how they can justify this trade:

Your Moms Pimp will give

Manning, Peyton IND QB

Brown, Donald IND RB

Briscoe, Dezmon TBB WR

Clayton, Mark STL WR

Moore, Denarius OAK WR

Watson, Ben CLE TE

Folk, Nick NYJ PK

Titans, Tennessee TEN Def

To Motos for

Cutler, Jay CHI QB

Charles, Jamaal KCC RB

Jackson, Fred BUF RB

Jones, Felix DAL RB

Sims-Walker, Mike JAC WR

Smith, Steve CAR WR

Keller, Dustin NYJ TE

If you saw motos team you would see that the only good players he has with any promise he is trading away. Notice he is also not getting any rookie draft picks in the trade.

In return for Steve smith, fred Jackson, Jamal Charles, he is basically getting Payton manning and d. Moore.

As commish would you allow this trade to go through??

My argument is that is motos did this trade and decided to leave the league next year his team would suck so bad that we would have a hard time finding a replacement owner to take over a team of Payton manning and a bunch of scrubs!

I don't see how this trade makes motos a better team in any way shape or form. Thoughts?

I'm a firm believer in not vetoing, but that is pretty silly. It would ruin Moto's team for many more years to come. What are the bylaws? Can it be put to a league vote?

The bylaws say that the commissioners can over ride a trade if we sense collusion or if we feel a trade is egregiously lobsided. Ok so I'm not crazy then for thinking that it would ruin motos team for years...that's exactly what I was thinking.

there is no logic or excuse for Moto giving away those players for 1% of their trade value. Kill the deal :boxing:

You don't have to say they can't trade, just tell them that it isn't going through as presently laid out; have them balance it more like draft picks, etc. and get it done that way.

In term of balance, I don't see it.

Basic deal is Fred Jackson, Steve Smith & Dustin Keller for Titans Def using current starting consideration

NO WAY.

If this is his way of getting out of the league, ask him. If he no longer has interest in being part of the league, freeze him from trades so as not to unbalance the league status. Line up a replacement owner.

I commish and I would also wonder abt Motos intentions next yr,that's not rebuilding, that's a

Fire sale and I " WOULD NOT" let it go thru and would watch Motos going forward.Now....

both may get angry, drum up some league support and explain from, the commish point of view,

And leave it at that.

Not only wouldn't I allow it, but there would be some punishment handed out. If the description of motos view and involvement in the league is accurate, very likely might remove him from the league unless he did an amazing job convincing me the course things had been going with his league involvement was going to do a hard 180.

An imbalanced trade is hardly a reason to veto a trade.I am firmly against vetoing trades. Bad trades happen, it's a part of FF.That said, this is probably the first time I am in agreement that a trade should be vetoed.

If you don't think they'd collide (except on the field of battle, because that's the only place true warriors collide, of course) and you can understand how they can justify it, I don't see the prob.
