This is pure conjecture that Jones is not built to run between the tackles.good post. still, despite the meager ypc - Bush figures to get 60-70 percent of the carries because Jones is not built to run between the tackles. So Bush has 60 carries for 237 yards..Considering everyone thinks OAK has a great running game, why is he averaging under 4 ypc? Unless OAK is getting blownout, Id be shocked if Bush gets less than 15 carries. That said, if Taiwan's explosiveness is leading to more production, I could see it become a 50/50 split tomorrow. Thats certainly an "if" though. With Nicks seemingly out and a few guys on bye, Im stuck having to start either Taiwan or Jon Baldwin (or maybe start both and sit Battle, doubt I do that though)...Im actually thinking both Taiwan's floor and ceiling is higher than Baldwin's, but its hard to say given how each has only been on the field a limited amount at this point in the year.
pure conjecture? I guess NFL scouts just make this stuff up. Even in preseason, the majority of his runs were to the outside. He will be a very good RB with limited touches. Yes, that's exactly what scouts do. They make an educated guess, an opinion. Scouts had legitimate concerns about Jamaal Charles and if he could hold up over 16 games. He's the same type of 200-pound, 4.3-40 speed back. I don't think Taiwan Jones is some sure thing, but let's see what he can do before making a presumption that he can't do it. I just want to see him get 10-15 touches a game for a few weeks before I form an opinion of his future.pure conjecture? I guess NFL scouts just make this stuff up. He clearly has HR impact, but its hard to start this kid just based on that when I would agree, he gets around 10 touches, although 10-15 is more of what I expectI think T. Jones is explosive and will be a viable NFL RB and fantasy RB. Just don't overlook the return or M. Reece this week guys. He can run, catch, block, play TE and flex into the WR position. Plus he plays the FB position which puts him on the field more then Jones (more then likely in my opinion) plus he is a veteran that is trusted to block for the tailback and pick up blitzes for the QB. This will eat into what touches Jones would've gotten this weekend. That being said, I'm playing Jones in my flex position without hesitation. He can hit a home run at any time, and he should see around 10 touches/targets. Again, don't go overboard for this week, Reece will impact Jones' touches.
Gotta hurt.Im starting TJ over Sproiles in my flex, a clasic what the heck flex, boom or bust....This kid can ball, motorboatttttttttt!!! Will be watching this game very closely, with all eyes on Tebow,DThomas, TJ and also maybe a hint of JThomas....Cant wait!!!
I dropped him at about 12:45 for Quiz Rodgers. I figured Quiz has far better long term upside with an injury to Turner. He almost got into the endzone twice.no after game bump for all those expecting fireworks??
not to mention looked like he had absolutely no power. He's got potential, but needs to hit both the film and weight rooms hard all off seasonKid was horrible. Lotsa missed assignments, penalties and missed tackles. He'll be seeing a bit more of the bench IMHO.
Agreed. In addition to the mental aspects, he really needs more development physically to ever see meaningful RB snaps at the NFL level. The speed is nice to drool at, but he's a long long way from impact at RB. Guys runs with zero power or balance.Kid was horrible. Lotsa missed assignments, penalties and missed tackles. He'll be seeing a bit more of the bench IMHO.
Interesting. Do we know this from his 7 total career carries?Agreed. In addition to the mental aspects, he really needs more development physically to ever see meaningful RB snaps at the NFL level. Thought likewise watching today. Other than his potential in space, he needs a lot of work physically and in protections.A light breeze will blow this guy away. JMO He's a practice squad guy type player right now. (Though with his beloved 40 time, someone would claim him)Agreed. Thanks for posting this. Most people just react to the numbers and don't care if there is a backstory behind them. I think any dynasty owners that give up Jones based on this game will live to regret it.After back to back special teams flags on TJ, he was never seen again. I dunno if Hue was trying to send TJ a message, but I think if he did, it backfired. Bush was running very predictable inside power runs and the Broncos were prepared for that. If they had used Jones in the second half, they might have opened up the offense more. He's the kind of back that you need to ride out, and not nearly in the category of DMC. If they just don't give up on him, he'd probably give you at least one big play. He's going to be good someday, but a lot of that is on him being disciplined, and some of that has to be on the coaching staff not giving up on him.
His missed tackle on the punt return TD was a back breaker and the score by Denver dictated more passing. Still would have liked to see more rushing though. Dude is Dexter mc luster at best. Thanks for posting this. Most people just react to the numbers and don't care if there is a backstory behind them. I think he's a very fast guy with tremendous acceleration and decent lateral agility. The problem I have with him is power and balance. It seems a good gust of wind could knock him down. He reminds me of Fargas without power, or a taller, lanky Nap Kaufman. Plenty of talent, but missing some key ingredients for a RB in the NFL. Kick returner? Sure. WR? Maybe. RB? No. I acquired because of Bush's contract and McFadden's injury history. I'm dropping in dynasty. Thanks for posting this. you may regret that. Guy needs to hit the weight room and he has room on his frame to fill out. When you bought did you think you would have production this year? seems a little premature to give up this early when the guy was a project to begin with. Reminds me of the guys that drafted Jimmy Graham and gave up on him before last season was halfway overI think he's a very fast guy with tremendous acceleration and decent lateral agility. I agree with this. I'd rather take a shot at McCluster (the better receiver) in PPR because neither are going to do much early down work running the ball.I wouldn't outright drop in dynasty (I'm sure I could get something for him). I think his best case is Jerious Norwood/Lorenzo Booker. Like a few noted, just runs with no power or balance. Has no shot in the tackles. His missed tackle on the punt return TD was a back breaker and the score by Denver dictated more passing. Still would have liked to see more rushing though.
