Interested in opinons which late round RB to draft with a chance to hit the jackpot later in the year. These two come to mind, or feel free throw in other suggestions as well.
Thanks, but not just looking for handcuff to hold and hope somebody gets hurt. Looking for ideas on players who could take over or win a job outright based on talent.draft peoples handcuffsmaurice morrismichael turnerum michael bennett
Your first two posts are somewhat contradictory. Hitting the jackpot is more likely to occur with a handcuff to an established star rather than to a low-ranking player in a RBBC. So to me, Michael Turner, Maurice Morris and Brandon Jacobs (I exclude Michael Bennett) are more likely to be jackpot candiates than a Jerome Harrison or Musa Smith type with very late draft picks, as you specified.ETA: If Lundy is available late, then the draft is probably pretty early (mid-August at the latest) or no one else in the draft is a FBG. He shouldn't slip that far, so I'll amend my initial suggestion to read if any other potential starter is available, then pick him before the handcuffs. Thanks, but not just looking for handcuff to hold and hope somebody gets hurt. I see your point, and maybe it's splitting hairs, but what I'm trying to determine is players who have the potential AND are in the right situation to win the job based on the lack of performance of those above them on the depth chart. That's why I brought up Musa Smith (with Lewis' recent drop in production) and Cedric Cobbs (with Shanahan's track record of finding RB's and their still somewhat unsettled RB situation) as possibilities. I agree with you that the most obvious selections are the handcuffs you mentioned, but just looking for a situation where the opportunity could be due more to ability than injury. Last week the situtation in Houston was that Dominick Davis injury was not a huge deal. Then the reality that he may get IRed came out propelling Lundy stock way up. Lundy will go higher now.I drafted last week with two other FBG's and took Lundy in the last round. Lundy is not as desireable that people make him out to be. Even if starts, will be really be that great? I think people keep forgetting that we are still talking about the Texans.
Agreed. But the comment that I replied to said that if your draft was in mid August you could get Lundy in the last round and insinuates that if it was after that point that Lundy would be taken earlier. That statement is just not true.Last week the situtation in Houston was that Dominick Davis injury was not a huge deal. Then the reality that he may get IRed came out propelling Lundy stock way up. How much longer are you going to keep this up? You post this in every thread even if it's not about the Texans backfield.RB Chris Taylor of the Texans as a late round flyer. He is the 3rd on the depth chart and has been a favorite of Kubiak's during training camp.
As long as I want to. If you do not like it then stay off the message board. How much longer are you going to keep this up? You are making yourself look foolish. You have no certifiable proof that Taylor will even be in the mix, yet you consistently keep posting it like it is fact. I will bump this throughout the season when I need a good laugh! As long as I want to. If you do not like it then stay off the message board. How much longer are you going to keep this up? I guess you are the Texans expert and follow them closely. Please be sure to bump. He will get playing time as Kubiak has brought the Denver running philosophy to Houston. I have been posting facts. I never said that he will be starting or platooning to begin the season. I do see him getting playing time throughout the year and like Denver, possibile alot of playing time. Kubiak has been interviewed on local TV and said that he likes Taylor very much. All of your posts are insinuating that Taylor will be in the mix. Don't you think that this would have been discussed by more people than just you? For him to even see the field, he would need to have DD, Lundy and Morency all get hurt and miss time. Is it possible? Sure it is. Is it likely, NO! Why would you keep telling people that they should use a roster spot for Taylor? It's irresponsible. Stop it!I guess you are the Texans expert and follow them closely. Please be sure to bump. This is exactly what I went thru a few years about a player named Dom Davis. I just sit back and laugh. If your roster size is small then you shouldn't take up a spot. If it is 20 players then I think it might be worth a flyer in round 20. My posts also indicated dynasty or rookie leagues. Someone should definitely snap him up in those. I wish you were my in my league. You seem like dead money. All of your posts are insinuating that Taylor will be in the mix.
