I've felt for awhile now that the Bucs' inability to throw the ball downfield is their achilles heel. I'm sure I'm not alone on this. Watching the game today I couldn't help but see it unfolding before my eyes again. When Garcia was leading them down the field for a potential win, I was like: "This is it, achilles heel, right here, they can't do it because they can't throw the ball down the field". This is why they can't win the NFC, despite having the defense to get the job done. They can't compete with the high-powered offenses of Dallas, NO, etc. I really wish that they had gone harder after Favre. I think his ability to stretch the field would be all TB needs to have a great shot coming out of the NFC. Their DST looked really good against NO today, but they just can't counter-punch when they need too.
I think it's a combination of play-calling (not a Gruden fan), WR corps (old/ineffective), and QB (I'm a Garcia fan, but he can't throw the long ball).
