Tattoos Talk (1 Viewer)

would you settle for missing teeth?
I've never been convicted.

Srsly, face tattoos are a pox on modern existence. They don't even worry me anymore they're so generational. They look like garbage. I don't want to have to see your face now, folks.

Shark play is to hide it under bangs. Sure people will think you are weird for having bangs but just wait till you throw your hair back and show off your tat of Justin Beiber.

What does the tear drop below the eye mean?

Is that from when your homie died and now you're sad?

Also, does the spider web on the elbow mean you killed someone in jail?

that spider web tattoo is a prison thing. supposed to mean you're caught in the web of the system or something.

I pretty much loathe all tattoos unless you were in the military or a band. The rest can all go screw. And shrews with tattoos? You lose, snooze.

I'm a fan of tattoos in general and appreciate the art but I'm really glad the Soundcloud era of rap has ended because the face tattoo trend was getting a bit much. I always found it comical when someone wouldn't have ink anywhere else but they're face. Baby steps little buddy. And then all the once cute girls/groupies that got them just to fit in. Not sure how painful the removal process is but I imagine it'd suck to deal with lasers to the face.

Personally I can't wait for the Boob Chandelier era to end

Haha, I didn't know there was a name for it but that has to be the modern day version of a tramp stamp. Terrible look. Another one I noticed but I don't mind is the rib cage tatted with some sort of motivational quote they probably saw on Instagram. I see a good number of younger girls with some form of this at the gym. They're usually fit and in the sports bra/yoga pants outfit so I'm all for it

One artist called Xan Frank even got an Ann Frank portrait tattoo'd on his face :lmao:

Something about that is hysterical and sad all at the same time. Not sure how you can run the gamut of emotions any more than doing that.

I'm not sure whether to be outraged or laughing.

Guess all you can do is laugh.

This goes back way before Soundcloud, though. Remember when David Faustino (of Married With Children fame) had a rap career and called himself Da Lil'?

:gargling noise:

It was so . . .

:gargling noise again:

perfect

:spits out Listerine:

Rappers were called Lil in South since the late 80/90s. Then some East Coast rappers followed suit (Lil Kim/Cease and Lil Dap from Group Home). It's been a moniker since hip hop's infancy but yeah the Soundcloud era ruined that name for me.

i recently had some tattoo work done, i have quite a few, around 15, nothing face or neck wise. when i was at the parlor, it was jam packed the entire day with young girls getting pierced. i didn’t realize piercings were that in rage.

My man Furley knows good hip hop. Fantastic Damage perfectly summed up a post 9/11 NYC. Glad to see an underground king like El-P cash out with Run The Jewels. Only took him a few decades. Accidents Don't Happen is still one of my favorite hip hop tracks: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RuGvgz_kmNQ

At the age of 53, I will be getting my first (and last) tattoo. And it’s going to be a doozy (half sleeve). I’ve been on a waiting list for about 4 months now, with about 4 months to go.

Nice. Must be a great artist. Are you doing that locally in Houston or somewhere else?

Wow, that’s different. What’s the inspiration?

On an unrelated note, I designed a tattoo of Herve Villachaize for one of my friend’s daughters, after she lost a bet with me.

It’s actually in Southern California so I’ll have to make a couple trips (my son is out there so I’ll just time my visits to see him). It’s actually a highly in demand shop with three different artists that do the same style tattoos (although one uses the tebori non-machine technique). I told them first available between the three. They are all incredible.
