Tatum (1 Viewer)

hope they start working him into the passing game this weekend. Indy has been bad against the run, hopefully it continues

Tatum Bell is going to have a great game. Indy can't stop the run, Denver's notorious for being the second best rushing team in football, and Tatum Bell is one of the most talented RBs I've seen in a long time. I think I'ma go make a sig with Tatum and TD saying "History Repeats Itself", because I could see Tatum going for 2000 this year.

No way this guys stays healthy all year. Don't kid yourself on this guy getting 2000 yards? Not going to happen. Maybe 1500, and that's stretching it a little.

As for this weekend againts the Colts, he'll go over 100 and hit paydirt once.

Broncos :: RB

RB T. Bell's Role Taking It's Toll

Lee Rasizer, Rocky Mountain News - FULL ARTICLE

Broncos RB Tatum Bell wanted to be a full-time running back. And with the extra carries comes the added contact. The difference has been felt in his body Monday mornings this season. He's stiffer, sorer, and something new seems to hurt every time, too. "I'd hate to see those guys who back in the day used to carry 40 times," said Bell. "Twenty- five is good enough."

From the FBG Daily Email:

*** Friday Update *** RB Tatum Bell (DEN) practiced on Friday and is expected to play this weekend.

So, basically the same thing every RB in the NFL says. Yet, they all still take every carry they can get. Nothing to see here.

Of course. The question was asked about his health status. There are still some interesting things in the article about the upcoming game against the Colts and his season so far. Did you read it?

How much is the addition of Booger McFarland to Indy's D-line going to help stop the run Sunday? Indy is going to concentrate heavily on stopping the run & making ol' Jake the Snake beat them. Should be a good game though.

No way he beats Dayne, no way he beats out Mike Bell ....... I've been hearing the " no ways " all season and thank goodness I never listened and have him in two of my leagues. He's a nice RB to have right now. I'm starting him over Stephen Jackson evry week. As with any RB, he COULD get injured at any time ..... but I know this, he's scored a LOT more than Edge and Alexander this season ! and more than McGahee and Droughns and several other RB's that were suppose to be better than T Bell !

Ya know you're exactly right. We are only talking about someone who was beat out last year by a 34-year old RB named Mike Anderson for the starting job right? I will stand by my guarantee and say he will miss at least two games this year due to an injury!! :boxing:

Is there anyone who honestly believes Bell is going to rush for 2,000 yards this season? As far as this week's matchup, Bell has looked real good since becoming the starter and the Colts have looked real bad defending the run prior to last week. Maybe getting Booger was the key but I think it had more to do with the Redskins' defense being bad and not being able to slow down Manning, which meant they couldn't run the ball as often as they would have liked. I don't see that being a problem with the Broncos. Their defense is MUCH better than Washington's so I'd be very surprised if the Colts were able to build a big lead and force the Broncos to abandon the run. I think Bell's a lock for 20+ carries again this week and given the strength of the Denver running game I'd say he should be good for no fewer than 85 yards rushing with more than 100 very possible.

Us Tatum owners need to enjoy the long one that Westbrook, Dunn, et al owners have enjoyed...

I'll take the 20 for 85 1TD game... but we're about due to add the 82 yard TD turn for a nice 175 2/TD game. Is that asking too much?

As of now, Tatum is very SJax-like.. if that makes sense...

Bell should have a nice game. The Colts are horrible against the run. That being said, keep in mind that Bell's a good games against great defenses (100+ against Baltimore) and average games against defenses he should be able to exploit (83 yards against Oakland).Shanahan is going to certainly want to keep Indy's offense off the filed. That's going to mean ball-control.Bell should be good for 25 carries and 100 yards, as long as his turf toe doesn't flare up and/or he doesn't put the ball on the ground. Shanny will not tolerate that against this team.

I keep seeing people bring up fumbling as if it's a major concern for Bell. He's only fumbled twice all season and only once since becoming the starter. And that fumble came in slick conditions. I'd say the concerns about Bell fumbling are the same as the majority of RBs in the league. He's not a chronic fumbler by any means so I wouldn't view that as being something to worry about.

Tatum Bell is one of the most talented RBs I've seen in a long time.
Are you serious? He has very good speed and is in a great system, but I just can't see any way he's one of the most talented RB's "in a long time"...unless you just started watching football a few weeks ago.I own Bell in a dynasty league, so i'm not looking for him to fail, but calling him one of the most talented RB's just doesn't make sense to me, hopefully i'm wrong. It rarely takes the elite talents 3 years to become a starter.

I agree. TAtum has all the speed in the world. With Denver's blocking schemes, this can often result in nice running lanes for him to exploit. That being said, Bell couldn't beat out Ruben Droughns or Mike Anderson in previous yeras, and it took Mike Shanahan two months to see any seperation between him and the undrafted Mike Bell. This isn't meant to be a bash of Tatum Bell, but let's be honest about how talented the guy is.

I think this is a BS excuse...he didn't beat out those guys because of experience. The fact is, now that he is the starting back, he'll produce TOP 10 numbers and possible TOP 5 numbers considering that most top drafted backs are ####ting the bed this year. For folks that drafted him, he could be the key to a championship season.I can see 1600+ and 10 TD's...excellent numbers for a late round pick and possible SOD.

I'd say with both Sapp and Kylie in the game, and given Tatum's generally horrible hands, I would not expect a lot of targets to TB.

No way this guys stays healthy all year.
Just b/c I hate absolute statements, sig bet that TBell misses no games due to injury?
Please tell me your kidding? I"ll take this bet and laugh all the way to the bank with it!!Bell getting hurt = Money in the Bank :boxing:
PM me and we'll set it up to begin after tomorrow's game.I am outta here for the movies in under 10 minutes and haven't thought of a decent sig for ya. And I simply won't have time on game day tomorrow.

No offense... but you two are f'ing boring this thread to death... take to a PM love affair.Let's be constructive here..... Indy D... they made a run adjustment and Denver could be down 17-3 n a blink of an eye.... what's that mean for TB?

 what does him getting beat out last year have to do with his skills this year? just a heads up, players capabilites change over time with age, experience and maturity. The injury prediction is one thing but to throw in your "34 year old beat him" BS just shows your a grade A hater. Dont be mad becasue you thought he wouldnt do this well and beat out the scrubs around him.

Which 2 games?Unless you can answer that for me, your guarantee is worthless.

Bell is leading the ACF in rushing if I am not mistaken.

And, he is only 62 yards behind Tiki. I don't understand how some just can't recognize fantasy success when they see it. Oh well, mid way through the season a couple of years ago, there were several threads about whether Mushin couldn't keep it up. For now, I'm gonna base the value of Bell on what I have seen. I like what I have seen. Enough said.

L.J.? Only named starter because of injury to Priest during his 3rd year.

Tatum was injured in his 1st year with numerous aches and pains......so really last year was his rookie year and this year his 2nd.

I concur, the article gives more insight. At first I thought, c'mon Tatum, "Twenty-five is good enough," what kind of talk is that? The article finishes on a positive spin coming from Tatum. I believe he is going to be really pysched up and play a great game. He will be huge for Denver.

Yes, he has a case of turf toe, so we shall see. All the other injury talk means nothing. I see the glass being half full and it is partly sunny outside. Tatum breaks a few long ones. He says he is leaving yardage on the table. I like that kind of attitude as he reinvents himself even better next time. I'm on board and would love to see the mile high salute. Wasn't long ago Terrell Davis produced week in and week out. :banned:
