TE Jake Ferguson, DAL (1 Viewer)

I was surprised to have gotten him cheap in my auction draft. I tried for a bunch of my tier one guys but kept getting outbid. So I ended up with him and Friermeuth cheap. I hate playing the matchups at TE so thinking Fergy will be my starter with Pat as depth. Agreed that Fergy should be the # 2 target after Lamb (over B Cooks)

If you go TE early like La Porta end of round 2/early 3rd, can't see the downside of a Ferguson as TE10/11 off the board, even if you have a true starter at TE, when can you not find room to flex a TE especially on bye weeks or in leagues that award a little more than just 1 pt PPR. I have a couple leagues that are 1.5-2PPR at the TE spot.

What do they have in Dallas after CD Lamb? Honestly, you're fooling yourself if you see BIG things ahead for their RBs this season, Ferguson will be a safety blanket for Dak
Could produce 80+ catches, had 71 last year, not much of a stretch really...85-100? I'm asking

Absolutely loved getting him for $1 last season at the end of our auction draft. Hoping to do close to the same thing in my draft this season, though I fear he may be a $5 TE this year. He produced fantastic last season.

My 25 year running in-person keeper auction league draft is in 2 hrs. We’re a TE premium (1.5ppr) league and I’m absolutely hoping to get him for 8-10 bucks. Dak is one of my keepers so it would be a nice little stack, and while that’s not the reason I’m targeting him (my thoughts on him mirror yours) it’s a nice little bonus. 80+ catches is absolutely in the range imo.

This is exactly (or close to) what I did. 10 Team, 10 player keeper. I kept LaPorta, and took Ferguson at 4.1 to have that seamless bye week production. I can also see the area of 80 catches, especially early on while CeeDee still sits or gets up to speed. LaPorta having an early bye week helped with that decision.

Ended up getting Ferguson for 6$. So feel really good about that.

Dak Prescott on Jake Ferguson’s knee injury:

“I think we’ve dodged a big one. Just talking to him, he gave me a lot of confidence…He gave me good news.”

Jake Ferguson Week-To-Week With MCL Sprain

Share:twitter-round-icon.pngreddit-round-icon.pngfacebook-round-icon.png

25 mins agoDallas Cowboys tight end Jake Ferguson left Sunday's 33-17 Week 1 win over the Cleveland Browns with a knee injury. Many feared the talented tight end suffered a season-ending injury. Thankfully, tests revealed that Ferguson only suffered a bone bruise and an MCL sprain. The team is listing him as week-to-week, meaning he could return sooner than later. Yet, Ferguson could get placed on injured reserve later in the week, knocking him out for at least four games. 2023 second-round pick Luke Schoonmaker is the most likely candidate to replace Ferguson as Dallas' starting tight end. He is worth a speculative add off the waiver wire. However, Schoonmaker is not someone fantasy players should start in Week 2 unless they are extremely desperate.--Mike Fanelli

Cowboys TE Jake Ferguson said the pain of his knee injury was a 10 on Sunday. It’s a zero today. The initial thought was that it was an ACL injury.

“Thankfully just a little bone bruise. I don’t even think it’s a Grade 1.”

He has never posted a 100 yard game. Find it hard to believe that he does not have a TD this season as well. He was my TE flag this season. Another prediction that I was way off on.

Any CowboysGuys worried about Schoonmaker ascending?

Draft capital, as well Ferguson 2022/4th vs Schoonmaker 2023/2nd ...
I don't see it. Ferguson will dominate in TE targets, is the same age as Schoonmaker, and I don't see him breaking the bank on a new contract. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. But anything can happen I guess.

No. He was a panic pick because their guy (Detroit’s TE) got picked. He’s fine but not better than Ferg.

The guy you need to keep an eye on is Brevyn Spann-Ford. If they can fix his issue of not looking the ball into his hands he could potentially get more playing time. Dark horse stuff so he’s probably at least a year away.

The #Cowboys and standout TE Jake Ferguson have agreed to terms on a 4-year extension worth $52M in new money with $30M total guaranteed. The deal was done by agent Jack Bechta (@jackbechta).

Ferguson gets a $12M signing bonus. Dallas takes care of a young star.
Wow. 7th highest paid TE in the NFL. A lot of money for a guy with one good season who is likely to see his role decrease with the Pickens addition. Not a move I'd have made if I were Dallas.

As is often the case I'd reservere final judgement until I saw whole contract terms but the money part seems ok to me in a league where Engram and Juwan Johnson just signed deals that are going to pay them $11.5 and over $10M a year.

That they have two other intriguing young TE's and a lot of financial commitment to some other players is the only thing that surprises me or feel like makes this questionable. But the money for the player? That seems pretty much on par.

Ferg is one of Dak's favorite targets. 7-10 targets when they're both on the field. When Dak missed time last year, Ferg struggled. Nothing has really changed in the short/mid/RZ passing game, even with the Pickens add. Top-12 TE seasons are quite likely over the next couple seasons.

Pretty weak night. Lots of dink and dunks and a couple dropped TDs (Although would have been tough catches). Was hoping for more.

That's one way to look at it but...he also had at least 1 TD drop although he was about to get laid out by the Safety
Could easily say 6/30/TD and I think you would be more than happy
The TD targets are a good thing, not bad and he wasn't the only receiver that dropped a ball at the wrong time last night
I believe Dak will get him6-7+ targets agian next week, he's part of the game plan which is all you can ask for
Just ask AJ Brown what its like to not be part of the entire game plan

Positive from last night, about what you expect for his ADP. 5 good catches, under 50 yards total, and a couple of end zone looks that, to be fair, were both hospital balls that he still managed to get his hands on.

I think he will be fine. He had two good endzone looks.
I was very pleased with his target share. If Dak puts a little more air under that 1st EZ shot it’s a laugher of a TD.

If Jake holds onto that hospital ball, he also has a singicnantly better night.

Was it stands, my Ferguson out-scored my opponent’s Pickens in my home league, so I’ll take it.
