Well, the word "still" certainly means he was in a boot at some point recently. So basically just a misleading post. That’s a question mark for a reason. I don’t know and was asking![]()

Vrabel says Delanie Walker (ankle) is progressing. Feels the time off last week was good for him. Projects being able to see what his status will be after today. Didn't seem optimistic that Walker will practice today for #Titans.

There is readily available video of him in a boot last week. Do your own homework. Maybe try “Delanie Walker Boot” on Twitter. Voila! The post isn’t at all misleading.Well, the word "still" certainly means he was in a boot at some point recently. So basically just a misleading post.
Jonnu is looking like a viable option again in week 9Delanie Walker (ankle) remained sidelined at Thursday's practice.
Walker hasn't played or practiced since injuring his ankle in Week 7. We'd consider him a long shot to suit up Sunday in Carolina. Jonnu Smith—the recipient of nine catches for 142 yards over the past two weeks—will remain an appealing streamer for the duration of Walker's absence.

I'm thinking of Flexing him with Ertz as my main TE in my PPR league. It's either him or start him over Ertz and insert Michel, Sutton, Ty Johnson, as I got the other half of my roster on byesI'm firing him up again
I'm thinking of playing him OVER Ertz. In the end, I probably will not do it.DJackson10 said:I'm thinking of Flexing him with Ertz as my main TE in my PPR league.
Jonnu Smith caught 3-of-5 targets for 18 yards in the Titans' Week 9 loss to the Panthers.
The three-catch performance was Smith's third straight, though the yardage was a disappointment after he averaged 71 the previous two weeks. With Delanie Walker (ankle) sounding nowhere close to a return, Smith will maintain streamer appeal for Week 10 vs. the Chiefs.

I have always considered him a long term play. That term is beginning to mature now though. I do think this could be his job next season.Anyone selling/buying Jonnu as a long term play? I have him in a few dynasty leagues because most of mine are 2TE. Thinking of selling with some trade deadlines coming up.
21 snaps in first half, awful game where everything went wrongAnyone watch the game? Curious what the heck took place here yesterday.
CAR was middling against TEs and TN was in comeback mode, yet nothing.
Confidence shaken now and need an Ertz replacement. Gotta think Tanny will be throwing again against KC in catchup mode...especially of Mahommes is back.
Not sure about Delanie. Think he got out of his boot yesterday and is now just practicing. He may need another week.21 snaps in first half, awful game where everything went wrong
Delanie is looking like he's coming back
Jonnu Smith caught 4-of-6 targets for 30 yards in Tennessee's Week 10 victory over the Chiefs.
It's the second time in the last three games that Smith's led the Titans in targets without Delanie Walker (ankle) available. His team-high 18 looks in that span are four more than rookie A.J. Brown's seen (14). Backup TE Anthony Firsker (3/36/1) hit pay dirt in this particular matchup, but Smith remains the stronger fantasy option of the two as he continues seeing more opportunity weekly. He'll remain a low-end TE1 streamer until Walker is fully cleared.
Jonnu Smith caught 3-of-4 targets for 63 yards and one touchdown in the Titans' Week 16 loss to the Saints.
Smith got the scoring started with a 41-yard touchdown in the first quarter. He was eerily quiet the remainder of the day and briefly left the game to be checked for an injury before quickly returning. Smith has 60 yards and/or one score in three straight games and gets the Texans again in the Week 17 finale after hanging 117 yards on them in Week 15.
Jonnu Smith caught 3-of-4 targets for 38 yards in Tennessee's AFC Championship loss to the Chiefs.
Smith’s third year in the league began much like his last two as he stayed glued behind Delanie Walker on Tennessee’s depth chart through their first six games. The 35-year-old’s season-ending ankle injury (only one year after initially suffering a gruesome broken ankle) inevitably opened the door for Smith to finish as fantasy’s overall TE17 with career-highs in targets (44), catches (35), and receiving yards (439), including 29/342/3 from Ryan Tannehill from Week 7 on. With MyCole Pruitt and Anthony Firsker both expected to hit the open market in March, it’s plausible Smith returns in 2020 as the Titans' de facto No. 1 tight end. He should be viewed as a tremendous late-round flier pending Walker’s status.

Meh. Walker has missed most of last two years and has played 240 snaps to Jonnu's 1,328 in that span. Walker has not been an obstacle for him for most of these last two years. He looked good the last half of the season and now is the time to hold, not sell. I must admit I was getting tired of holding him on my dynasty team, but I expect him to be a top 10 TE next season. I personally feel Walker is finished, but if he isn't, then we will have to be patient another year.
Delanie is not returning. He sprained his ankle, spoke out, so Vrabel put him on IR. There are stories out there....Vrabel way too serious about silence and what to sayHe looked good the last half of the season and now is the time to hold, not sell. OC Arthur Smith, former TE coach, loves to switch his TEs. Jonnu has played blocking TE, receiving TE, fullback, AND is a WR in their big package. This is what he does during a game to adjust- more than anything else.Meh. Walker has missed most of last two years and has played 240 snaps to Jonnu's 1,328 in that span. A lot of ifs in this article. I just don't see enough targets to make Jonnu a top tier TE.
Titans TE Jonnu Smith said he and QB Ryan Tannehill have been working out together at a privately owned local park.
"We're just working on building that chemistry," Smith said. "It'll give us a great advantage. Him knowing my speed and me feeling how the ball comes out of his hands." Continuity could be an issue for a number of players and teams given the absence of on-site OTAs and minicamps, but Smith and Tannehill may be able to buck those concerns with reps. 25 in August, this upcoming year will be Smith's first as Tennessee's starter in place of veteran free agent Delanie Walker. Any extended opportunity following the fourth-year pro's smattering of 3.4 targets per game from Tannehill last year would be a welcome addition to his repertoire in 2020.

I'm kinda getting on the Jonnu hype train actually. Not as a top 10 TE, but close. And a heck of a lot higher than his ADP. Shooting for him as my backup TE.A lot of ifs in this article. I just don't see enough targets to make Jonnu a top tier TE.
For starters no more Delanie Walker. Smith is a great athlete for the position and showed some promise last year with 35 receptions / 439 yds / 3 tds. I worry some about his hands and he was labeled a body catcher. He could also add some more weight without affecting his athleticism. I believe he could definitely hover around the 10 - 13 range for TEs next season with possibility for more. There is always risks for TEs, but I like the way the Titans use their TEs.
He's hardly been there since 2017.For starters no more Delanie Walker.
I probably shouldn't have started my response with Walker because he wasn't the main point of my post. He's hardly been there since 2017.
Yes and I do appreciate you answering the other stuff I just got a sore point for people who keep referencing Delanie's absence as a reason.I probably shouldn't have started my response with Walker because he wasn't the main point of my post.
He is a mismatch and if the defense is overloaded to stop Henry while also shading over for AJB, Jonnu should have one-on-one coverage and big plays should be available. He isn't going to have a high volume (but neither is AJB) due to the Titans philosophy but he should get his chances each game. Not a bad upside and his price is really cheap at the moment.Yes and I do appreciate you answering the other stuff I just got a sore point for people who keep referencing Delanie's absence as a reason.
I think for him to break out or at least reach an area he becomes a somewhat reliable option for fantasy he needs one of the two to occur:
1. Injury to Derrick Henry which would force Titans to throw more or an injury to AJ Brown so when they do throw they'll need Jonnu more.
2. Spend the offseason working on ways to get him more involved and try to play to what he does best like run after the catch. I feel pretty sure they are doing these things, they seem like a good staff, but for him to be this breakout guy or again someone I feel like I can put some trust any increase in involvement has to be extremely significant and my forecast is for more of a mild growth.
Were these things not all present last year?He is a mismatch and if the defense is overloaded to stop Henry while also shading over for AJB, Jonnu should have one-on-one coverage and big plays should be available. not really. AJB was an unknown so teams weren't focused on him. Henry hadn't exploded yet so defenses hadn't seen or had a year to gameplan against him. Were these things not all present last year?
