TE Rob Gronkowski (4 Viewers)

Excellent news... Everyone rolling with him? I've got Julius Thomas, but I could put Gronk in the flex...

Anyone worried he is limited or anything along those lines?? (Assuming he plays)
well seeing he hasn't played all year and has very limited practice I wouldn't expect a huge game... marginal at best but Im glad he will be back out there Fn finally!
??? He's been practicing for 4 weeks and last week played Jimmy Graham so well on the scout team that NE was 100% prepared to stop Graham. I'd say he's in fine football shape.

I expect he has big numbers, he has stated he's not going to play until he is ready to go, with all the negative press towards him, it makes the chip on his shoulder huge, like his numbers will be this week

is that his line this week??? wow coop that would be great although I think 6-70-1 is probably best case... Absolute best case... He is gonna be limited, limited snap count.. Trust me I want him to do well Im gonna be starting out of need and being 1-5 I am not ready to say he will get 40 fpoints in ppr his first week back and hasn't even been anywhere near a real game or playing action in Months... You think u can just step out there and score 3 tds after a year off???? if it were that easy We all would have a chance.

I cant see it at all. This was one of the benefits about having him able to practice with the team while he healed. He should be good to go for the entire game

I hope they only rest him when the defense is on the field.

Dodds still has Gronk as the #3 TE going forward.

Would you Gronk owners not trade him for Gonzalez, Witten, Gates, Cameron ?????
I would in a second... Gronk has no value except dynasty imo.
This is going to be fun to bump when Gronk is back and averaging 25 PPG.
Yes, particularly when it's after Week 17, and all our playoffs are over.
What was that?

games are different than practice - I think he will be on a snap count as well.

Not to disrupt the lovefest, but today is the time to trade Gronk if you can get close his previous value from an eager owner. I am shopping him around to see if someone will read he is back and offer near his previous peak value. There are still many questions and if you can unload him for big value, do it.

I don't disagree with the notion of shopping Gronk. But only if you are well stocked at the TE position, or are going to get a reasonable TE as part of your trade compensation package. OTOH, it's been a long wait to finally open up our toy we drafted so long ago. It's tough to let go of the Gronk dream, and exit the Gronk fan fratboy group. They are a lotta fun.

Can't find my post or the link right now but this seems like a good time to remind you boys that NE is 2nd to last in the NFL in redzone TD efficiency, and they have completed 5 passes to TEs all year. And Amendola is out this weekend.

Eat Gronk. Eat.

I've been waiting too long!

I traded him for Rodgers two weeks ago and am regretting it big time!! I can't wait to roll Gronk out there on my other team - I'm currently f**king with the team I'm playing and leaving the TE slot empty as if I'm thinking about who to play - Torturing my opponent with the thought that he'll be the first Gronk victim this season!

Another reason to buy low on Brady as well.

If the lofty predictions for Gronkowski are accurate for this week, a lot of us should go home early today so we can unpack our Tom Brady out of moth balls.§

I don't even own Gronk and you guys got me excitied. This is like that one holiday that happens when its cold in December.

One of those questions being that he may actually be an even greater focal point of the NE offense due to rapport with Brady and obvious issues elsewhere at WR and RB.

True but that raises another question, can his body hold up to that increased focus?

That makes me think of the time Yahoo and CBS Sportsline were down and people couldn't make changes to their line-ups.

From where I'm sitting, you sound like someone that doesn't own Gronk, but would like too...

Fair point. My pure speculation is that it would take a couple weeks to get back in game shape. So no for the short term. After that I would guess he should be fine since he hasn't taken the pounding of preseason plus seven weeks' regular season and his cardio should be pretty good.

BB is only going to have him run and pass block on Sunday
Would that really surprise anyone? I could see Belichick sending a message.
Gronk is coming off 5 surgeries in the off-season... I don't think anyone is going to hold him accountable for wanting to be fully healthy - Especially considering they are now 5-1 and have their key component back on the field healthy.

Brady has to be a pig in #### knowing he has his favorite ride fresh out of the shop - He is going to want to take it for a spin :)

Then calm down with all of the negative thoughts - The guy sat out all this time to make sure he was fully healthy... Now you get your reward of a healthy Gronk on the back half of the season and playoffs.

I agree and if no one make a big offer I will gladly hold onto him. But a lot of people are excited about Gronk right now and that is usually the best time to sell.

It is not a negative thought at all. Gronk had huge value before the injury. Now he is back, but you cannot just pretend that the multiple surgeries never happened. If another owner want to pay his previous value for him now, I am going to take it. If no one is willing to make a huge offer, I will gladly start him every week. It is not negative, it is practical.

I get it, but I traded him in one of my two leagues and regret it big time... No way I let him go in my other.

There is good reason people are excited:

1) Even when he is double covered, he is open

2) Brady finally has a familiar face - I don't care what he says, throwing to a group of rookies and Edelman can't be fun! He will forcefeed Gronk the rock

3) He is healthy, he didn't sit out all this time to come back at 80%, I don't need to see a report to know he is good to go. They wouldn't trot Gronk out there against Geno Smith and the Jets while they're 5-1 unless he was just about 100%. I mean, I need to see he is active and starting, but once that happens, you'll know.

4) He has been practicing for a month, probably close to football shape

I think it is highly possible (assuming he plays he rest of the season) he finishes from here on out as either the 1 or 2 TE.

So let's talk trade value for Gronk. What would you accept for him, and what would you be willing to give up for him? I suspect a lot of people sitting on him will be fielding some trade offers this weekend.

Would you take or offer Calvin, Green, Dez for him? How about RB's? So many of them are sucking that I don't know who I'd take for him.

What say ye?

As a dez, Green, and Calvin owner in various leagues, I would not trade any of them for Gronk in PPR, in dynasty, etc.

I cut bait today so you can expect him to dominate soon...

Sent Gronk, Nelson, and Kaepernick for Witten, Bryant, and Romo (re-draft). I was really torn making this move as I have Gates/Cameron and RG3 already rostered so Romo and Witten may not even start. Gronk was going to be a difference maker for a title run.
You Gronk owners are welcome.

Thats a tough question. Like a lot of guys here, I built one of my drafts around grabbing Gronk and stashing him. Im... ok at 3-3 with him coming back, if not thrilled. If you hit a home run with Orange Julius its one thing, but who are you going to replace Gronk with if you trade him? Id do it for Calvin (who I already have actually) and certainly Manning or Graham (nobody would make those deals), but beyond that i'd really need to think it over. Dez and Green are too streaky for my taste compared to what we expect from Gronk at his best. RBs have been so bad this season it just doesnt really hurt much to have mediocre RBs, because so does everyone else. ADP or Charles would tempt me, maybe Shady.

The problem is my expectations and sweat equity are too high right now to accommodate what I'm betting most any other owners are considering reasonable. Gronk is just too valuable for how I have built my team, and i respect that he may not hold that value (given the risk) for others. So he's pretty much a guaranteed Hold.

I have an offer of R. Bush for Gronk in a non-PPR, start 2 RBs, RB/WR/TE flex league. Value wise I think Bush is good compensation in that format, but I am waiting on other offers.
