Someone had to step up with Nabers out for the year.Theo Johnson caught 6-of-7 targets for 33 yards and two touchdowns in a Week 5 loss to the Saints.
Johnson figured to step into a larger role without Malik Nabers (knee) and certainly did that, catching touchdowns on both of the Giants’ first two drives of the game. Even if fellow tight end Daniel Bellinger was more involved in the offense early on, Johnson was clearly Jaxson Dart’s top target when the Giants got into the red zone. Johnson was also peppered with targets late in the game in garbage time. Since the Giants figure to be in garbage time often, Johnson is a solid TE2 option the rest of the way.

I thought going into this past week he was more of a shark move than Slayton. I posted that in the comments on several podcasts. The problem is, is he just a red zone guy? I think he has the potential for so much more.Where’s the love?
I expect his role to keep growing, but 7 targets overall is pretty big.I thought going into this past week he was more of a shark move than Slayton. I posted that in the comments on several podcasts. I have high hopes for him the remainder of the year. More so than I do any of his WRs since Nabers went down.I expect his role to keep growing, but 7 targets overall is pretty big.I thought going into this past week he was more of a shark move than Slayton. Same here .. Also helps that Theo’s one of his best friends on the team. Maybe, we can get the TEMU version of Mahomes to Kelce ..I have high hopes for him the remainder of the year. if the Giants aren't running in the redzone, they're targeting Theo Johnson
he's tied for 5th in the league on targets inside the 10 and 4th inside the 20
I did the same thing in week 5. It worked out well.Starting Theo over Andrews and with Bowers iffy.
