TE Trey McBride, ARZ (3 Viewers)

Dataroma
Trey McBride since Jacoby Brissett took over as the starter, per @FantasyPtsData:

+ 28.2% Target share (7th in NFL)
+ 36.8% 1st read target share (6th)
+ 13 Redzone targets (1st)
+ 10 Endzone targets (1st)

This is despite having his bye in this time frame.

McBride nets out to 3.25 RZ tgts/gm and 2.50 endzone tgts/gm with Brissett. He averaged just 1.25 RZ and 0.40 EZ tgts/gm with Kyler in Week's 1-5.

Anyone worried about double teams all day long at SF this week? No MHjr, no Zay. Maybe Gadsden better option? Or is this blasphemy?
Nope. He had a 28% target share before. Prolly be at 35% now? Maybe higher. Who knows. He doesn't get his numbers way down the field where they can blanket coverage him and take him away. Dude is a man. A monster. A monster that is about to eat.

I have the same two players so I get the mild temptation to pivot but I wouldn't do it. McBride is balling and will be catching 10+ balls in this one barring something strange happening. Huge threat in the red zone for multiple tds as well.

I haven't read any updates on Benson but if he somehow plays, the offense is elevated and maybe that ends up helping McBride? Or is that out the window in terms of possibility regarding Benson's IR status?

49ers have to take McBride out of this game, make Wilson, Dortch and Demarcado beat you.

**Guy playing McBride this week and am absolutely terrified**

Interesting. I view McBride (as a shareholder for the first time) as kind of a "cherry on the top" type of player if the rest of your team performs. He's never going to put up 40+ like Taylor and Gibbs which I had to put up with last week as my opponent had both of them. Honestly, until Brissett took over, I was wondering why i'd bothered to draft him. He was getting regularly outscored by Kraft and Warren who could have been drafted many rounds later.

Great player, a real leg-up on an opponent some weeks but hardly something to be scared of. I don't even think he's likely to ever come close to what Bowers did just 2 weeks ago. Like him a lot though. More nervous to face players like Kittle tbh, players like him on much better offenses than Arizona are scarier to me.

Huh. He’s averaging 23.7 pts per week in PPR since Jacoby took over 4 weeks ago.

He's been great 4 straight weeks, hopefully Brissett stays upright and remains the QB. I wasn't dissing McBride at all by the way, he's been absolutely worth the early third redraft investment.

Went fishing to McBride owner this morning. Gotta change bait if I got a chance. Ha ha
Not sure if this helps you, but I traded for McBride last week. Gave a RB-needy team Judkins and Vidal for him. He originally wanted Kyren Williams 1:1, but I countered with the other two instead.
Having a solid TE is such a big advantage, especially in larger leagues. Nice job getting McBride.

In a vacuum without knowing rosters, that's a good deal for you. McBride has to be a tough player to trade for right now, he's so clearly the TE1, particularly with the Kraft injury. Only Kittle, Warren and Bowers are anywhere close overall. I think only injury or Murray returning for some reason could derail him.

I agree...I'm always much happier with my teams that drafted an earlier-round TE. I hate surfing the WW and hoping to find a TE that's gonna get me 8 on a good week.

McBride is in a tier of his own at TE IMO, just below Bowers - Just is a target monster and he’s producing touchdowns this year.

As far as the 40+ point games, I’d be curious how many RBs, WRs and TEs have hit this threshold say, over the past 5 years.

My guess is this happens to the tight end position the least, since they often touch the ball the least of these 3 positions.

Just bc he ain’t the greatest generational guy we’ve seen in a decade doesn’t mean he can’t be great in his own right, especially given his now proven track record.

And he’s always healthy.
