Random thoughts:

- CHI and BAL look to again be WELL above the rest as top Ds. I'd think that unlikely given how top performers change ever year, but don't see it changing this year.

- IMO best of 2d tier: NE, SD, JAX

- GB remains underrated while teams like PIT and DEN remain overrated.

- Has anyone plummeted quicker than CAR? Just a year or 2 ago they were considered elite....

- TEN went undrafted although they ranked 4th last year in our league. Granted they were very hot/cold but I have to wonder if they're worth a look (ie to play on weeks vs someone not named Colts)

Good thought about CHI but BAL has a very tough schedule this year.

In addition to the ones you mentioned I like Oakland defense as a late pick a little bit. Just because the team was terrible last year, people overlook the defense as a fantasy option, but the defense was one of the strongest in the league, especially later in the year. Add in Johnnie Lee Higgins as your punt returner and Chris Carr on kickoff returns, and I think the Raiders D is startable.

I think they did well last year YPG wise but ranked 21st in our league last year......pass. esp considering the division.

That's because they had Pacman Jones returning kicks. Can't exactly count on that this year.

I think NE is already right behind CHI and BAL as easy top 5 D, so not sure how much bump they could really get-?

I think Carolina is still a great D. Their young secondary is questionable, but other than that they are a force. I don't think the Steelers are overrated. I think their D will be better this year than last year. I think Denver has lost a step.

i just meant you didnt mention NE in your initial post and they could easily supplant NE or CHI in the top spot
