I'll start off by posting my projections to get us going. The idea is for others to post their own projections as well, or to comment on the projections posted by others.

I'm less convinced than most people that Jerome Harrison will be the featured back.

Carlton Mitchell is surely better than Stuckey and Steptoe, and probably Robiskie too. Otherwise there will be a lot of disappointed fantasy owners, as he has been going in late 2nd/early 3rd.

I'm higher on Harrison than you are. I see him getting 70% of the carries.

Chris Jennings as the leading rusher I just can't see that
I know I'm going way against the grain on that one. But I think he's the most talented runner on the team, and talent ought to win out in the end.The whole backfield situation is pretty murky, though. It's definitely not a position I feel good doing projections for at this point.

Last year, playing with Randy Moss, Wes Welker, Julian Edelman, Sam Aiken, Kevin Faulk and Sammy Morris, and while splitting time with Chris Baker, Ben Watson caught 9.1% of the Patriots passing yards. This year, playing with Mohamed Massaquoi, Chansi Stuckey, Brian Robiskie, Josh Cribbs, Carlton Mitchell, a bunch of non-passing catching running backs and Evan Moore as the other TE, you've got Watson projected to catch ... 9.1% of the Browns passing yards.

Any chance Watson is a sleeper TE? I wouldn't be surprised to see him double up that ratio and catch around 20% of the Browns' passing yards. He goes from playing with two All-Pro WRs, a great pass-catching RB, two more good WRs and another competent TE to playing with nobodies at WR, RB and TE.

Thoughts?

As another basis for comparison, you've got the Raiders projected at 3,176 team passing yards (similar to what Jason, David and Bob have, too). That's 250 more yards than you project the Browns at. But Zach Miller -- while competing with Chaz Schillens, Louis Murphy, DHB and Johnnie Lee Higgins, along with DMC and Michael Bush -- is projected at 753 receiving yards.

Now, it seems to me that the Raiders receiving targets outside of Miller are much better than the Browns receiving targets outside of Watson. So is Miller that much better than Watson as a receiver? Does that explain it? If Watson was placed on the Raiders instead of Miller, what would you project for Watson in that situation? Has Miller been putting up big numbers because the Raiders receivers in '08 and '09 weren't any good, or because he's a great receiving option? Has Watson been fantasy copper because he's been competing with Moss and Welker or because he's not a good receiver?

Although in the past it's true that Ben has has to compete with Moss and Weller, in 09 the Pats desperately needed another passing threat, and would have welcomed Watson for some production. It was odd that Watson was not utilized, as he has had success in previous years. My guess is either: 1 the pats did not trust Watson to continue to be a consistent receiver in the passing game, and so they demphasized his role as a receiver, or 2 they decided to just demphasize the entire TE role in the passing game. I hope he is utilized better, but I'm wondering if there is something more.
