Tebow for the championship... (1 Viewer)

If there was money on the line, I would play Brees. However, I'm in a bragging rights dynasty league in which I was laughed at for drafting Tebow at the end of the first round. If I win the title with him I Am Legend. I'll judge where I stand as the 1pm games are coming to a close. I can live with it if I lose. Losing with Tebow would not suck as much as winning with him would rule.
That last sentence is epic for anyone who plays for fun/bragging first and money second.

Picked up Tebow today. I have Rodgers. We play a 2 week combined score for our Championship, and I'm down 58 (!) going into this week. So I need Hail Mary plays.Would anyone in this thread advocate playing Tebow over Rodgers (v Giants) in this situation? We receive NO negative points. 6 pts all tds. I have Greg Jennings as well, if that factors in one way or another. Oh, and the team I'm playing is named.....Tebow Nation. No joke.
Sounds like you have no choice but to start Tebow playing the Tebow nation.Seriously, it really boils down to who you're playing. Right now, if I compare all my players against the team I'm playing in the championship, it's fairly even with a slight edge to my opponent based on matchups. If I go with my current, consistent QB (Flacco), he probably has no chance to keep up with my opponent's Vick in the QB points matchup. So I lose, but lose relatively closely. Coincidentally, I'm also worried about Flacco traveling to Cle because of weather and rivalry. So, who out there could potentially keep up with Vick based on match ups and availability on the WW? In my league, you're talking about Tebow, Grossman, Fitzpatrick, and Garrard. Grossman can lay an egg just as easily as Tebow against a motivated Jags team and has no rushing yards to make up for potential INTs. Fitzpatrick is intreaging, but I think the Pats won't let another Flynnesque performance happen in their home stadium. Garrard doesn't run like he used to and I think the Jags are going to run all day against the 'Skins to get MJD back on track after a lackluster weekend. So, I think my only option is to go for the gold and play Tebow. I either lose by a little or pull out the surprise victory.

Tebow and Grossman are both the FF Waiver wire QB's of the moment. One is a mirage and the other is the real deal.Tebow = mirageGrossman = real deal.
I didn't know Al Davis is a member of FootballGuys. He is legendary for his poor judge of talent over the last 10 years and this is a great example.

Tebow is crashing in both Dodds' and Bloom's rankings this week. I apologize if I'm not allowed to give out these but Dodds has him at 19 and Bloom has him all the way down at 29.

I've been seriously debating Tebow and Schaub all week especially with Andre Johnson iffy.

I have him in over Eli for the time being in the championship game because I don't like Eli's matchup and more importantly it would be epic to win on a move like that.

Same exact boat you are in except at the beginning of the year as a joke I changed my team name to JesusTebow and have held on to that name till today. Now I am starting Tebow this week. This will either put me in the brilliant move or haha you got what you deserve corner. :banned:

Necessary crow to be eaten. I'm a firm believer in taking risks in fantasy since I think it adds to the fun.

And yet, at the last minute, I went the "safe" route and started Kitna against the Cards rather than Tebow...despite all the arguments I had put forth in this thread.

No one can ever predict injury and who knows what Kitna's score "might" have been without getting hurt, but I stand here before you now saying I regret not taking the chance on Tebow.

Tebow did us proud, and I'm in a hole in my championship game because I failed to take this risk.

Darn it. :pokey:

 I had Tebow in my line-up all week, mainly as a psych-out/humor thing, and I was seriously thinking about going with him later in the week over Eli. Now, I wish I had. I'm not a huge fan of Tebow, but if this kid can do something like this against a defense that's not the Texans, he's going to make a believer out of me quickly.

Pretty much the entire first page of this thread is cluttered with people telling me I'd be crazy to start Tebow this week over Schaub. I did it and I won. Had I started Schaub instead I would have lost the championship by 2 points.

I now have a $1,600 check coming my way for NOT listening to all of you. Feels good.

I benched Eli for him, but at the last minute subbed in Garrard because I liked the matchup. Tebow and Garrard were just about even. I lost the SB anyway but taking a chance can pay off. They both did better than Eli.

Actually feels great. I had a ton of options on the WW and managed to pick Tebow who, in my league, scored the most out of every QB choice I had at my disposal. And I won. Congrats to you too!
