The immature 12 year old in me is howling! You're all WAY off.
The point is that if defenses make Tebow play with himself, sooner or later he'll learn he can't win.
Plus he'd go to hell for, you know, playing with himself.
Sure...but say the win the division...lose a close game in the playoffs or even win one and then lose. What do you do with Tebow?Do you think they feel they can sustain this offense and sucking for 55 minutes in a game every week?I must admit that for the first 50 minutes of this game, I was thinking "this is an embarasement. Why is a Pro-team refusing to at least find a QB that can run a pro-style offense?" I know if the Broncos ever get down 14 points, they can't make a comeback. But at the end of the day, the only thing that matters is earning a win and that is what happened. The Broncos crippled the Jets' chances of making the playoffs and the Broncos find themselves in the race in their division and that is all that matters. Gotta tip your hat to that.
Problem I have is I just can't watch him play - it's excruciating. He may be a winner but unless he vastly improves his passing I will root for him to fail and be replaced because he's just so awful to watch. There's no enjoyment for me watching this kid until the last 3 minutes of the game. Not worth it.Agreed, it was awesome watching him jog down the field and putting the Jets likely out of the playoffs. If Denver were to somehow win the division...it's just incredible. I know he's not pretty to watch but he wins games and the guy on the other team was doing that his rookie year and last year as well. Tebow is a winner

The Broncos were down 15-0 with less than three minutes remaining in regulation Sunday...Tebow threw two touchdown passes in the final 2:44 of regulation, then tied it by running in a two-point conversion with 17 seconds left in regulation.

He needs 1 full season, with proper off-season coaching, and a reasonable accompaniment of NFL-caliber WRs to accurately assess his readiness. Until then, this is just a guessing game both for the haters and the believers. To be fair, is Orton an NFL QB? Because he's 1-4 with this team. He also had Brandon Lloyd to throw to. We all forget Denver has no TE and no quality WRs to speak of - Eric Decker, Royal, DThomas, and Fells *may* be the worst receiving unit in the NFL.Sure...but say the win the division...lose a close game in the playoffs or even win one and then lose. What do you do with Tebow?Do you think they feel they can sustain this offense and sucking for 55 minutes in a game every week?
I'm giving him time -- I said he needs to vastly improve his passing -- one hurdle for me is that he's had a couple of years to change his throwing style and it still looks awful. Perhaps the light will go on and he becomes productive, and if he does, great. If he can't do that I can't watch, it's simply awful football to me and I can find better things to do with my time. John Fox said there are no points for style, and that's true, but for me football is entertainment, and I do not find Tebow's play entertaining in the slightest. So if he can't improve, I do want him to be replaced so that the games become fun to watch once more. I have nothing against the guy, just like I have nothing against Jimmy Claussen or any other QB who is excruciating to watch, I just don't want to watch a game I do not find entertaining.Problem I have is I just can't watch him play - it's excruciating. Do you really think Tebow is calling all the plays? You can't watch the Denver offense and I couldn't either last night, although that probably had more to do with Greene getting injured and going to the lockerroom so no more fantasy significance to me.Why would you root for him to fail? He is basically a rookie starting his 7th or so game and they obviously aren't letting him get into a rhythm passing. Kind of hard to look good when you weren't getting first team reps all year until they finally pulled Orton and you only throw 8 passes the week before. As others have said before, he needs time. Not everyone is Cam Newton and as a Panthers fan, even Cam Newton isn't Cam Newton of weeks 1-4. Rookie/1st year starting QBs aren't usually very pretty to watch.
Orton is an NFL QB and has proven it on another team before. Not a great QB by any means.THe problems with Denver go beyond just Tebow. He needs 1 full season, with proper off-season coaching, and a reasonable accompaniment of NFL-caliber WRs to accurately assess his readiness. The people of Jacksonville would take serious issue with this statement. He needs 1 full season, with proper off-season coaching, and a reasonable accompaniment of NFL-caliber WRs to accurately assess his readiness. One thing is clear: God really does favor sycophants like Tebow. There is absolutely no other explanation for this. The Broncos, as long as they keep Tebow in there, are God's team. Someone else please provide me an explanation of how a team can horribly suck for 58 minutes a game and still win every game. Seriously, that is like 4 two-minute drill miraculous comeback wins in a row. That just doesn't happen.Sure...but say the win the division...lose a close game in the playoffs or even win one and then lose. What do you do with Tebow?Do you think they feel they can sustain this offense and sucking for 55 minutes in a game every week?I must admit that for the first 50 minutes of this game, I was thinking "this is an embarasement. That isn't true at all. They led the KC game throughout and tied the Raiders late in the 3rd quarter and never trailed again. One thing is clear: God really does favor sycophants like Tebow. Tim Tebow has learned something that many Qb's do not know.......and that is he doesn't turn the ball over and throw silly INT's. Although a guy like Tony Romo who's been playing better recently, there are many times looking back on Romo's career he would have been wise to play MORE like a Tim Tebow in that regard.

And imagine that Jets' offensive lineman hadn't fallen on Powell's fumble in the end zone to score their only touchdown. We can play this game as long as you want. Now imagine their defense didn't score a DTD.'Shutout said:I must admit that for the first 50 minutes of this game, I was thinking "this is an embarasement. And when rolling out of the pocket, he actually throws some ropes totally on target. It's just from the pocket where his accuracy has been spotty.Tim Tebow has learned something that many Qb's do not know.......and that is he doesn't turn the ball over and throw silly INT's. Although a guy like Tony Romo who's been playing better recently, there are many times looking back on Romo's career he would have been wise to play MORE like a Tim Tebow in that regard.Tebow has exactly 2 turnovers this season (in now, 5 starts and a half). He has the lowest INT% of any starting NFL QB and has only fumbled once, despite 50+ rushes. Yet the haters want to point to his poor completion %. Given a choice between forcing the ball and throwing a dumb INT or dropping his comp% down a notch, I am glad he throws it away.
He wins games and he doesn't turn the ball over.
But some people think the NFL is figure skating with style points. Last I checked, they decide who makes the playoffs by wins and losses - not completion %.
excellent post . . .The Denver defense isn't getting enough credit here. They're keeping the team in games and making it possible for Tebow to lead comeback drives after sucking for 55 minutes. It's helped that they have faced some pretty atrocious quarterbacks since Tebow took over.
