Tennesse hype? (1 Viewer)

I don't get it. Can someone explain what's so exciting about this team? I can't see them beating a top flight team -- they barely beat Houston, and Jacksonville doesn't count in my book since for some reason the Jaguars decided not to rush in that game.

Good D, good running game, talented young QB, lost to the Colts by 2 points...

I'm not seeing the "hype" you refer to, but they are a solid WC contender.

what was the indy/houston score?

The Titans are real. They just play to the level of their competition. Jeff Fisher plays ultra conservative ball but I think they will finish with no more than 4 losses. The Colts have fallen to the Titans in their last 3 matchups once and "almost" another 2 times...not many other teams can claim that about the Colts in the last 2 years

22-20 Colts. Tennessee had a chance to kick a long field goal to win it, but B Jones droped a first down pass late in the 4th quarter...............

30-24 was the Colts-Texans score...the Titans-Colts was 22-20

The defense is one of the best in the league. The running game is one of the best in the league. Did WONDERS for Pittsburgh a few years back, eh?

They have one of the best coaches in the game too.

This is a real good team. Not great, but real good. They play VERY physical and have very, very good line play. Like Jon_Moore alluded to, they win the battle in the trenches. Haynesworth/VanDenBosch/Odem are physical and unrelenting. The O-Line of Roos, Bell, Mawae, Olson and Stewart is underrated and (mostly) players drafted mid to low round by the Titans (Mawae the exception). Fisher does a good job of playing to the team strengths and not getting away from that even if the matchup seems to favor playing differently. You need to watch them play. Statistically they may not seem that great, but, playing like they do, very physical, well coached, disciplined, they win close games late, just because, usually (the Houston game aside) they wear teams out. If you watch them play, it is pretty impressive.

Who is hyping TEN? I'm sick of the NE and Indy hype and can't wait for them to get beat, but I've missed the TEN hype.

To be honest, I like them flying under the radar. I don't want them to be hyped. The less hype the better!

Ah cmon now, you've seen the Tenn hype.

People saying they're going to be a wild card team, that's HYPE lol.

Seriously though, look at the remaining schedule.

Oakland-should win

Carolina-david Carr strikes fear in my heart.

Jacksonville-No QB, possibly no MJD-no wrs--darn good defense though.

Denver-If Henry's gone, and Walker's out, Cutler's int happiness...

Cincinatti-no defense

Houston-could be a surprise if Andre Johnson's back 100%

San Diego-moving on

KC-great run defense vs. a pretty one dimensional team

Jets-might be trouble if Clemens is starting by this point.

Indy-came awfully close last time

Honestly, just wanted another place to complain about him NOT starting still.

That's funny. They didn't decide not to rush, Tennessee stopped them dead. Haynesworth and the rest of that D-line and Bulluck and the other LB's are tough against the run. I believe they have the #1 defense against the run so far this year. Combine that with a decent rushiing attack of their own, and they will win a lot of games. I thnk the only way they don;t make the playoffs is if they suffer some key injuries on defense.

They were killing Houston until their defense called off the dogs, and then they couldn't get their mojo back. I watched the whole game - Tennessee would beat Houston at least 8 out of 10 times IMO on a neutral field. They are good because their front 4 on D is nasty, and they have a good OL.
