Tennessee Titans, Day 1 draft (1 Viewer)

Weapon of Mass Instruction

Watch my feet!
That's the sound of the NFL flying right over the Titans' heads.

WTH was that? I have no problem with Griffin in the first, other than the fact that we could have had in 6-8 picks later. But Henry in 2 and Williams in 3? Sheesh, we could have picked Steve Smith in 2 and STILL have drafted Henry in 3. Same picks, MUCH better WR. That WR had 8 (EIGHT) TDs in his college career.

:(

Oh, and they managed to bungle what appeared to be a done deal. Getting Mike Williams from Detroit for one of our 3 6th round picks.

Worst. Draft. Ever. Each guy played under his talent in his career (even Griffin), and those aren't the guys you reach for on day 1.

does this mean WHITE is the man, they are out of the turner talks...

Henry as the back up??
That would take some doing. ETA- :lmao: Nevermind. I forgot they drafted Chris Henry, so I was assuming you meant Travis Henry. :bag:

I'm a huge AZ Wildcat homer and alumni....Chris Henry was a huge reach.

It's amazing how much sway the 40 time has with some of these ballclubs.

the drafting of HENRY just proved to me the TiTANS did ZERO HOMEWORK

they took a look at the 40 times and drafted the best time .. nothing more

Henry started 6 games in college and couldnt even keep him starting job on his college team ... terrible pick ... as a L.White owner I am very very very happy ..

The Titans just screwed what they had going on end of last season.

No RB's , they reached on a WR . Bad Bad .
They obviously believe that Vince is actually Superman and that he does not need any help at all. The Vince Young haters have to be rejoicing, the Titan's brass are going to prove them right by not giving Yong any real skill position help. They couldn't even work a deal for Turner to give Vince a good RB to take some pressure off. Putrid. There is still some time to fix it but this draft and not getting Turner really has to make you wonder if they are even going to try.And I haven't even addressed the defensive side of they ball.

Very disappointing day 1. I fully expected Bowe or Jarrett with the 1st pick. I live in Austin/UT homer and was very disappointed with Griffin's SR year. Not sure if he was trying to do too much on the field, but he seemed to bite on alot of plays he shouldn't.

Hard to believe that Griffin turned out to be the guy that caused them to refuse to fork over their #1 for Turner.

Unless you are more the one person LHUCKS, you aint no alumni. :bye: [/engrishlesson]

I feel bad for you Titans homers. That was a pretty bad draft. Chris Henry is the definition of a reach.

But at least you still have Vince Young! :toilet:

IIRC, the Titans now have 9 receivers...B. JonesD. GivensJ. GageR. WIlliamsC. RobyJ. OrrP. WilliamsC. DavisJ. Filani
None of which would make the Colts roster, let alone, most any other for that matter.I like what VY brings, too bad they're treating him like Vick with regards to WRs.

Rich Gosslin gave your draft an A.

A The Titans found good players in every round without having to reach. More teams should try that approach. Harris in the fourth, Filani in the sixth and Otto in the seventh all could be steals. The Titans draft big-school production.

They have 9 guys on their roster that are designated as WRs, if they are lucky they "may" cull one real #2 and maybe a couple of #3s out of that group. They might field a solid #3 and nothing else. Their complete and total failure to add some real talent in this area, coupled with the great success at downgrading the talent at RB seems to indicate that they have intentionally decided to play for a high 2008 draft pick this season.

Exactly what part of the team's 2nd and 3rd round picks = "The Titans draft big school production"...?
