I'm not sure what it is about Pryor, but like Tebow, some people just REALLY want to see him fail, which isn't really the case for Kaepernick, or RG3, or even Freeman for that matter.

Actually all of them currently are horrible. Cousins needs a shot in Washington. There is a case of drafting a QB in the 1st round and maybe the backup is better but they are too stubborn to make the move. RGIII's contract may not be huge but Washington gave up a ton just to draft him. No way they can bench him yet.

If you look at the splits between his first four games and second four games something is clearly off. The last four games he hasn't completed more than 54% of his passes and has 1 TD to 8 INT's.

Yeah, there's no question that he's sucked. But others have sucked at various points in the season without the vitriol.

The Raiders went with a college style plan at quarterback in Week 14, wanting to give both Pryor and starter Matt McGloin shots at leading drives. But Pryor got just one chance, going 2-of-5 for 40 yards and leading the team on a 58-yard drive that ended in a field goal. McGloin got hot later, going 13-of-21 for 174 yards with two touchdowns in the second half of the 37-27 loss. Look for the undrafted rookie to start again when the Raiders host the Chiefs in Week 15, leaving Pryor with just a few packages.

Agent Jerome Stanley teed off on the Raiders Monday, saying the organization wants Pryor to fail in his Week 17 start and accusing coach Dennis Allen of botching the quarterback situation. He might have a point, but Pryor knows that going public isn't the way to roll. "I apologize for the recent comments toward the Raiders organization. That's not what I'm about," Pryor wrote on his Twitter page. "I'm thankful for this opportunity given to me by this great organization and the phenomenal fans." Regardless of all the drama, Pryor makes for a strong Week 17 plug-n-play because of his legs. In this first seven games this season, he averaged 7.5 carries for 69.2 yards with one touchdown.

Raiders coach Dennis Allen called Terrelle Pryor's agent's allegation that he wants Pryor to fail in Sunday's start the "stupidest thing I've ever heard."

"This isn't the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills," Allen cracked. "This is football." Allen also insisted he wasn't holding the agent's remarks against Pryor. "This is a time where you have to separate player from agent." While the rep's comments were remarkably stupid, they should be a dead issue going forward. 2014 is the final year of Pryor's rookie contract.

It's hard to argue with that.

I doubt it will ever happen but I would love to see what a more accomplished coaching staff could do with a guy like Pryor. Unfortunately I think it is more likely that, barring injury, he will not get another legitimate shot at being a starting QB in the NFL.

Pryor may have the best raw physical tools in the league but he is nowhere near the passer that Cam was coming out of college. I love his physical potential but I am not sure he can learn how to become a good passer.

Not sure about that statement. I don't necessarily disagree about the future QB not being on the roster. I definitely think we need to draft one at the 5 spot next year. But I think it's unwise to close the book on Pryor or McGloin. Particularly Pryor who has all the upside of Cam Newton, who led his team to a first round bye this year.

Not sold on Pryor at all. He hasn't shown the same passing ability that Cam Newton has. Maybe that will develop over time but I'm not goint to bet the Raiders future on it. I'm more intrigued by McGloin though.

McGloin isn't the future either. Career backup is his upside IMO. Not sure what people see in the guy.

I agree. Like I said in my earlier post the future starting QB for the Raiders is not currently on the team. There isn't much out there in free agency in the way of QB unless there is some surprise cut. So that is why I said the Raiders will probably use their 1st or 2nd round pick on a QB.
