Texans adopt RBBC tactic (1 Viewer)

Hard to know which Coach was more stupid in Week #08. Ryan, Tomlin, Kubiak, Shanahan or Childress ...Take a look at the first 3 series for the Texans....Where's the SMASH MOUTH attitude from Week #01? Good Grief ... Foster had only 2 carries all game of less than 4 yards, and he averaged nearly 7 yards/ rush ...
First 15 "smash mouth" plays in the first game:...
You misunderstand his point. He isn't saying the first 15 plays of week 8 should have been the same as the first 15 plays of week 1. He's saying the first 15 plays of week 8 should have been the same as the LAST 15 plays of week 1, when the Texans were running on most every play and continually moving the ball. The last two series in week 1 were all runs. The series before that was predominantly run.As you showed, the team in week 8 instead kept the same run-pass ratio they used when they were not playing smash mouth football behind Foster.I agree with him. The Texans should have come out and said, "We're going to continue running the ball like we did in Week 1 until they show us they can stop the run." And I think it would have worked given what we saw from Foster when he did get to carry it.You've shown you have a strength the other team couldn't stop. You don't go away from that. You continue to go to it and just be ready to switch back to the pass if they show they can stop the run now. But until they do, run the damn ball.

In that case, I agree as well.

I got lucky on this one. I traded Foster and Naanee for Larry Fitz and Beanie a couple weeks ago.
I'm not so sure about that.
I feel pretty good about it. Traded one RB in a time share for another so that might be a wash from here on out. And I'll take Fitz over Naanee despite the downgrade at QB. I'd do it again.
After seeing tonight's game, how you feeling about that trade now? (Am thinking I am hearing DOH! Long live Homer SImpson!)
I think I'm still feeling pretty good about it. Points wise, Fitz/Wells has scored about the same as Foster/Naanee since I made the deal in week 3. I've been playing Jamaal Charles in Fosters place with mostly good results. Fitz replaced Naanee/DezBryant, so I'm more then made up the points per game I lost with Foster over Charles with the production of Fitz over Naanee. I'd rather be starting Charles over the past couple weeks, overall, anyway.Overall, I still feel good about it. Naanee isn't even a rostered player anymore and I have Wells waiting in the wings for down the stretch with a nice playoff schedule.

Foster is a good player. But I think I'll probably still feel good at the end of the year that I made the deal.
