**Texans at Ravens**(+2, 40.5) 1:00 (1 Viewer)

I think people look at Cooper Rush's record and his stats, and get the idea that he's not bad. Mike McCarthy deserves an award for making it look that way. Rush is awful. There is no bigger dropoff in the NFL than from Lamar to Rush. That said, I'm not sure the Texans D is as great as people think it is (pass rush is, the rest...meh) I think Rush could have some success dinking and dunking, especially if Houston sells out to stop Henry, who has traditionally owned them, and likely gets back to being a 25 carry guy in Lamar's absence.

While the Ravens D has been a shell of expectations, they are getting Kyle Van Noy back and still have the NFL's best Safety. Texans OL has somehow been worse than last season, and I think this is one of those games where the sheer amount of injuries, is making people forget that the Texans suck, and are 1-3 themselves, with their only win over the favorites to pick #1.

I think the Ravens win this one, but its more about the Texans being bad than anything else.

Just feels like the Texans offense finally has a good game. Texans defense just gangs up on Henry.

Texans 31
Ravens 17

Cupp is pretty good. The definition in your mind of pretty good.

Henry is plenty used to rushing a thousand times per game against the Texans and he makes some of those great young DL not pin their ears back.

The Texans were given a gift on their schedule (playing the Titans) and are hardly confident and rolling.

They got Marks going and Nico and Stroud got into a rhythm at times.

They need to build on that and have a good season. The injured Ravens need to attack that questionable OL and not let them.

I could imagine ever score prediction possible here.

I'd bet on Henry taking over in the second half.

Raise your hand if you had The Ravens an underdog at home in week 5 against The Texans.
Anyone?
Is this the game The King shows up?
Texans do have a very good defense
This one has me stumped
But I can't go against The Ravens here.
At home I think they circle the wagons and win...

Baltimore- 23

Houston- 20

Way too many injuries for Baltimore. This is a struggling team with a skeleton crew. The Texans finally notch a W against their nemesis. 27-13

BAL without Lamar is like mayonaisse soda.

HOU seems to will themselves to a loss, against all odds.

Who wants it less? Doesn’t matter, nobody’s watching.

If this was in Houston I've be much more worried about Henry, he completely owns NRG stadium. Ravens absolutely spanked Hou last year at Xmas, this is no gimme even without Lamar, Texans need to come out committed and hope the Ravens injuries on Def can help the Hou offense get right. Hou offense still sucked for nearly 3 quarters against the Titans, maybe something finally clicked or maybe the Titans Def got tired in the 4th, we shall see.

HOU drives down the field with ease for a TD to WR Hutchinson. That's may easily be the best drive they've had all season so far, no penalties, no sacks, that one was easy.

Rush looks pretty good on the opening drive, made a couple of nice passes on multiple 3rd downs to keep the drive going. Hou manages to hold in the RZ keeping it to a FG.

Al-Shaiar hurt his knee on an awkward landing trying to get an interception, to the blue tent.

Rush takes a really bad sack on 3rd down

Stroud with a heck of a run on 3rd & 3, 30 yarder career high, barely stepped out at the 4 yard line but almost had the TD

So much for Marks earning the larger share of carries so far today. After last game, I’m a little surprised they’re not giving him a chance to see if they can’t get more out of the younger player.

Does it look like Chubb has a refrigerator on his back to anyone else? Or is it just because I started Marks in a few DFS lineups?

He had a 10 yard rush wiped out by penalty on an early drive. But they are rotating him and Chubb still, plus HOU is passing really well and just having their way with the Ravens. I'd expect HOU will go run heavy in the 2nd half up by 3 TD's now.

Rush throws a dump off that Pitre reads and INT. Chubb gets sprung for a 20+ yarder outside rush - easy TD

Glad I started Marks in multiple leagues today :wall:

Guess I was wrong, HOU is still slinging it on this drive with Marks in. He gets stuffed on 3rd and 1 and loses yardage.

57 yard FG for Fairbairn

Stingley falls down covering Flowers deep, tackled at the 4. Henry owners may get a chance for some points here.

HOU goes for it on 4th and 1 on their own 44 and converts. Agree with JJ Watt as announcer - think this team wants to really pour it on after getting embarrassed back during that Xmas game. Also explains why they are still passing so much still.

Edit: and on the very next play a 47 yard deep strike to Kirk

wow - Andrews bobbles a catch and Pitre pops it up for his 2nd INT of the day. HOU gets the ball back on BAL 21

Damn that stadium looks empty. Is that just late back from halftime?
Still looks emptied out
Apparently was some booing at the end of the half, kind of surprised by that. Ravens have had a heck of a long run of success, other fanbases would kill for that.
They were one of the favorites to win the Super Bowl before the season started. At this rate there has to be some concern about even making the playoffs barring quick return to health for Jackson and a tremendous run the rest of the way. You’d like to think fans would be understanding of the situation but I’m sure they’re understandably disappointed and rightly frustrated with how poor the defense is.

Davis MIlls in for Stroud. Pierce back out there at RB too - guess I will switch it to some other game now.

Nice for Houston to get the monkey off their backs, 0-8 in Baltimore until today!

Oh it makes some sense, IMO fans are dumb though. No Lamar, missing multiple starters on both sides.

Good for the rest of the AFC this year, but if the Ravens get a pretty nice high pick in this next draft and can add a stud somewhere? They should be right back in it next year.

There's a lot to take into account with how bad the Ravens defense is this year, and then decimated by injuries on top of that.

But one thing I'd take away on the Texans side is that when they protected Stroud, he looked like rookie year CJ. In particular in the first half, he was throwing with anticipation, getting rid of the ball quick a lot. But also held onto it on other plays to let it develop and made good throws and choices.

And on the plays he got early pressure, you got two sacks.

I had started to have worries about if CJ might have been ruined. But this game makes me think more than anything I've seen in awhile, that he hasn't been. Just need to fix the protection and I think we may see him be the guy we saw his rookie year.

Also, this is a good defense, but no one should have been doubting that. Yes the Titans game was the Titans, but they played this well against likely playoff teams in the Rams and Bucs.

That was my reaction too. Doesn't matter the city. Certain situations will bring it out.

Both sacks were unblocked guys outside too. The first sack they had two guys unblocked and Marks took one but the other ran free at CJ.
