Don't have much of significance to report from the Sunday morning Texans camp. Didn't have a ticket, but had no problems finding someone who had more than they needed.
They put the special teams on the field near the bleachers, resulting in half the people going and lining the middle field to see what was going on there (that was as far into the fields as they would let us go). We at least got to see some of the passing drills, but the full scrimmages happened on the furthest field which we couldn't get to. About halfway through the only activity was the kickers and then the scrimmage on the field we couldn't see. After a little of which I got fed up and left.
Got to see some passing drills with no defense, in which no one really stood out much to me. I don't recall a single drop.
Then they did some drills in front of us, WR vs CB one-on-one. The WRs had the definite edge. With only a few exceptions, the offense ate up the defense. Of course with no pass rush it was a little tougher on the coverage than in a normal game. Surprisingly, the lone player I thought was a standout was Philip Buchanon. I thought he might have drawn some flags for contact in a real game, but he was playing physical and showed the kind of desire to make a play that was lacking from him last year. He had a couple of nice pass defends on Andre Johnson, knocking the ball away before it got to AJ. He was the only corner I noticed consistently making plays.
Dunta Robinson didn't work out, nor did Domanic Davis. Moulds did work out. I noticed he and AJ spent most of their time between reps talking, so hopefully there is a lot of mentoring and bonding going on there. Something I don't think the Texans offense has had much of in past years.
