Texans Offense (1 Viewer)

their defense looks pretty brutal, so they may have to play from behind a lot...

run game pretty sketchy & they may have to abandon it early & often anyway...

carr has i think highest or one of highest QB ratings in league (i think i saw that in peter king's MMQB)

dre johnson is putting up big number in PPR leagues (& even standard scoring), without many TDs... TE doesn't seem too involved so far...

yeah i've noticed this as well... carr used to be incapable of putting up stats even in garbage time... now he's starting to put up acceptable numbers.

too bad i blew my chance to grab him off the waiver wire in my league last week :wall:

They suck so bad that now the opposing defense just let's him throw in the 2nd half just to get the game over quicker.

Good news for us Andre Johnson owners.

Grabbed Carr in my Yahoo league, since Plummer was on a bye and Warner was pulling his annual disappearing act. Hopefully he'll be serviceable.

This is horribly untrue, and the most ridiculous statement I've heard in some time.

I am pretty sure there is some sarcasm their. I feel sorry for them that Mario Williams is looking like a high schooler out their. Defense is were they are struggling the most, for him not to have an immediate impact is devastating to their squad.

Then you haven't read many of lod's inane rantings.
If that is the case then I share your sentiment.

David Carr's put up some decent number the first few weeks.

Week 1, he was just average.

Weeks 2 and 3 he had nice games, partially due to the fact that they were playing from behind, and partially because he has more weapons this year. The combo of Johnson and Moulds isn't bad at all.

As of right now, he's a solid bye week option QB.

You ain't kidding. it only happened the last 2 weeks. You may want to get superfan so you can watch this in action. Then you would know what I am talking about. :bye:

I am loving Andre so far. I drafted him a few years ago as a rookie in a keeper league and he has been good except last year, but even at the end of last year he put up decent points in my PPR league. Right now he is the #2 WR in my league only behind Coles who is averaging just a shade under 10 receptions a game, which is pretty good in PPR. With their horrid defense and improving passing game, I see Andre finishing in the top 10 in PPR leagues barring injury.

While this is true, it is not translating into bigtime FFL points and certanily not wins. The last 2 games were over at halftime. If there is a site that shows QB rating per Q, I will say that his rating skyrockets in the 4th Q when the opposing D is waiting for the clock to hit zero.

Carr at #1 passer rating could very well be the most overly inflated stat in the history of the NFL.

1stQ - 154.52ndQ - 81.1

3rdQ - 78.0

4thQ - 122.7

lod your post doesn't explain why his QB rating is so high in the first Q.
In both games 1 & 3 Carr came out and lead scoring drives on the initial series before the team reverted to form . The 4th quarter numbers are really inflated by a dynamic performance in INDY (2nd) game where he threw 3 TDs and the ball basically did not hit the ground when the game was like 30-3. In short, Carr is inconsistent although when he get into some sort of rhythm, he looks the part of an above average QB. Anyway, there is something wrong with your systems of measurement when the QB of the 23rd ranked passing offense is also the number 1 ranked passer in the league. Too much variance for my tastes.

Carr has looked much better this season, and I am one of his biggest critics.

It is a shame, however, that it looks to be at least another season of waiting to see him placed in a position to carry his team. The fact that the NFL's leading passer through 3 games is on a team that is 0-3 (and never looked to be in contention in any game) shows just how bad the Texans are.

I didn't want to draft Andre, but he was sitting there so late that I felt like I would be a fool to pass on him. Now he is outperforming Harrison and TO. I didn't see it coming, but I am loving it. Very under the radar tho. I was talking trades with an opponent and mentioned Andre. He said something to the effect of, "I don't want that bum". That bum is the 5th high scoring WR in our league.

carr is i think #8 in FBG scoring... i realize some of this coming in garbage time... but that begs the question if there is reason to doubt he won't be in garbage time a lot, at least for this season... the defense isn't looking very good, so until that changes, it could be the usual state of affairs for the team (which was part of the original point)...

i'm just not that excited about the three headed monster of dayne/gado/lundy running behind that OL, either, so i think they will be in passing mode a lot of games this year... certainly in the second half (ie - garbage time)...

with dre AND moulds carr clearly has the best WRs in his tenure by far...

What? You've been critical of him?How did we not notice that? I mean, apart from calling him a fraud at the position and insinuating he has a learning disability. Oh, and there was that gem where you showed such impartiality in noting how bad his coaches were and how they had ruined Couch and young Kerry Collins... yet still say it is all Carr's fault, and how the new coaching staff wouldn't make a difference.I've never seen a poster whose opinion I had once valued burn up his cred faster than you did with your series of attacks on him that lacked any semblance of impartial evaluation.
