Texas, Let's Design Where Your Low Tax Rates Will Really Go In Your...New Republic! (1 Viewer)

The existing miniscule Tejas independence movement appears to be a Christian/Libertarian faction. It's hard to glean details from its website but the nationalists seems to want all political candidates to acknowledge the supremacy of God and freedom of religion -- Muslims are singled out as ineligible btw for not believing in the legitimacy of other religions -- and the complete end to the welfare state. If you're not a producer, be gone wit' ya.

I initially thought that the Tejas secessionists were in for a rude awakening with the state inexorably turning majority Hispanic (and getting bluer in the fast growing metro areas) in the near future but it turns out they have a plan for that, too. Their proposed second house in congress will be a US Senate-like animal with every one of its 256 counties having equal representation. Acreage and white man rule remains the goal.

Also, no yucky unions.

I have no idea where those taxes will go but I do know the gun lobbyist will control it.

I'm all for keeping Austin as a national park. Keep that #### weird.
Austin reminds me a ton of San Diego, the vibe, architecture and people are all very similar.  Needless to say being born and raised in SD I really liked Austin.

Really? All the more reason to keep it as is. What's stunning is that after about four and a half years in the Inland Empire, I've been to San Diego maybe a total of four times. It's only an hour ten tops!

But back to Texas. One wonders if they will have their own pro football league.

Before the lockdown I was down there weekly for work, also the family loves Coronado beach. But that traffic back into IE coming down the hill into Temecula is some of the worst in all So-Cal so I can’t blame you.

It’s large enough for its own 4 team division at least!

What few tax revenues there will be will be directed into helping the one percent. The loudest voices for a new Tejas Republic are looking for an end to universal suffrage and rule by oligarchy.
