I'm going to be on a golf course for almost all of Day 1, and I was wondering if any service existed (preferrably free) that I could subscribe to which would send me pick updates of the NFL Draft to my cell phone.

Before anyone will supply you with such information you first will need to prove you are forced to be on the golf course instead of watching the NFL draft because of your job (i.e. PGA tour participant) or other suitable excuse (i.e. someone has a gun to your head).

Cingular has an NFL update feature that will send you updates every time there is breaking news. Not sure if they would send you one every time a new draft pick is made or how they handle that on draft weekend.

If you have internet access on your phone you could always just visit ESPN.com every 30 minutes or something.

I will have my fat #### firmly planted in a chair at a table in a bar, cigar in hand, beer & bloody mary with olives at hand, an order of hot bald wings in, and enjoying the company of knowledgeable Norse division fans as the draft starts on Saturday.

This draft has the makings of being hugely entertaining, and ought to generate some real surprises.
