That was smart of McCarthy to not let Rodgers try and tie the game. (1 Viewer)

BRONG

FOR A LIMITED TIME ONLY
Plenty of time, and a couple of timeouts, you gotta let Chicago score and at least get a chance to tie it. Holmgren was smarter than that when he gave Favre the chance.

Not to mention the TO he burned on an absurd challenge that was also desperate. I don't care if the challenge came from somewhere else, he's got to have better people make those decisions.

Choker. Packers fans, this was your year for the Superbowl. Sorry.

I agree. The way Rodgers was throwing on that defense, a minute and a half was plenty of time to score and either sack up and go for two or tie it up. Horrible decision making. I don't think it has any bearing on their season however.

I'd love to hear your logic for the latter. :goodposting:
I can't speak for him but I was thinking the same thing. Sure it would have been much better to beat the Bears this week but by the end of the season I suspect Green Bay will be in first place. They wouldn't have gone undefeated most likely, so there's not much of a long term impact.

:loco: Packers will be fine. They killed themselves on the field with the penalties. The coaches made some questionable calls but this loss is on Zombo, Collins, and the offensive line.

NFL coaches are bred to make conservative, "by-the-book" calls like this. It's why they don't go for it on fourth down more often when it's clearly the right option more often than not. It's why they don't mix in more surprise onside kicks. It's why they don't go for two in the third quarter because it's "too early." And it's why they don't let the other team score, even when it's obviously the only chance they have to come back and win the game.
