The FF Index listed 32 sleepers for 2006 in their print magazine 15 mos. ago, looking back, its not a great strategy to draft sleepers as the hit rate was extremely low.

However, they hit big on Frank Gore, Ladell Betts, Bernard Berrian, Mark Clayton, Reggie Brown.

They missed widest on Aaron Brooks, Nate Burleson, D.Blaylock Holcombe, TJ Duckett, Jurevicious, Bledose, C.Cobbs.

Makes me wonder what 2007 hype will be deflated by Tuesday.

1. Arizone: Edgerin James: Dont understimate that he'll remain a top tier back.

2. Atlanta: TJ Duckett: The Falcons will need to stick him in the lineup

3. BL: Mark Clayton: The Ravens throw more than you realize .

4. BUF: Kelly Holcombe: Only Carson P. comleted higher passing percentage in 2005

5. CAR: Deagnelo Williams, "He may step into a featured role before long"

6. CHI: Bernard Berrian; Bernard is a better WR for CHI than missed than free agent Antwan Randle El would have been

7. CIN: CHris Perry, ultimately someone else has to carry the ball for the bengals

8. CLE: Joe Jurevicious: will probably finish as the team's top wide receiver

9. Dalls: Drew Bledsoe : 14th year could be his best

10. Denver: Cedrick Cobbs, the RB flavor of the minute

11. Detroit: Corey Bradord, hey this is Mike Martz offense!!

12. Green Bay: Rod Garnder, he may win a starting job

13. Houston: TE Jeb Putzier he might surprise as he caught a lot of TDs in Denver

14. INdianapolis: Peyton Manning, not a sleeper, but he'll be the best (duh)

15. Jacksonville: Matt Jones-- he scored for of five games before a Byron Leftwich injury

16. Kansas city Eddie Kennison: Lots of yards but not TDs, could change

17. Miami: Ronnie Brown, averaged 4.4YPC

18. Minnessota: Troy Williamsn, previously lost in the shuffle, but speed to burn

19. New England : Ben Watson Despite Brady spreading the ball around...Watson is a great target

20. New Orleans: Reggie Bush: He's "that type of talent"

21. New York : Brandon Jacobs, an intriguing goal line back

22. Jets: Derek Blaylock, He may never relenquish the starting job if he ever gets it

23. Oakland Aaron brooks: He brings some mobility to the table

24. Philadalphia: Regggie Brown might come through with 1,000 yards and 9 tds

25. Steelers: TE Heath Miller should be available for 50+catches

26. St Louis Rams: TE Joe Klopenstein: a rookie, there is nobody else at TE for the Rams

27. San Diego: RB Mike Turner, The best #2 RB in the league (too bad LT2 was #1)

28. San Francksco: Frank Gore: Possibly a new featured back, he's quick, runs low and breaks tackles

29. Seattle: Nate Burleson: He has reliable hands

30. Tampa: Joey Galloway - Dont write him off

31. Tennessee: Drew Bennet had a special run in 2004, he has the talent

32. Wshington: Ladell Betts: Has sohwn he is very capable and finds time behind an overworked starter

 Ummm, when was this printed ?
 The post started out with this:

Ahhh yes ...

I thought this was a list for their 2007 picks ...

I see now

(Just noticed more differences that I should have before ... sorry ... need more coffee)

Maybe I'm wrong, but these lists probably aren't produced with the idea that every pick will hit.

that's not the point . . . a few of them almost HAVE to hit because there's so many - therefore, its not a very insightful list . . .

I am a long time reader of the FFI and I remember Ian Allen (sp?), the publisher and main writer for FFI, saying years ago that he didn't like the idea of putting a sleeper/bust list in his mag but he felt almost an obligation to seeing as how almost all the mags had them.
