C Joe Mauer - This was the year he was supposed to stay healthy and the power would come around. Move this kid to third base already.
C Ramon Hernandez - Baltimore is a fantasy wasteland, but with old man Lopez gone, Ramon was supposed to hit and protect Tejada.
1B Nomar Garciaparra - What happened to the HRs? His supplier get busted?
2B Rickie Weeks - 30/30 potential guy that gets sent down to the minors during the year. Sounds like Corey Patterson of a few years back.
SS Felipe Lopez - HRs are down, SBs are way down, but that .240 batting average is killer.
MI Jesse Barfield - Who here thought the Tribe stole Barfield away in the preseason deal w/SD?
3B Troy Glaus - Well, he must not be on HGH anymore. He won't come close to his R, RBI, or HR averages.
CI Eric Chavez - I don't like to single out injury guys, but stick a fork in this guy.
OF Johnny Damon - Finally adding a weak bat to his weak arm.
OF Jermaine Dye - ChiSox should have cut bait with him, instead of extending a new contract to him.
OF Vernon Wells - Jays tried him at almost every spot in the lineup, but nothing worked with him. At least he has that fat contract to fall back on.
OF JD Drew - Scott Boras is worth every percentage to throw this fish back into the market and come away with a bigger contract for this stiff.
DH Sammy Sosa - Wanted to go with a pure DH in this spot. Sammy actually provided some offense for Texas in the early going, but has been a waste of space in the second half.
SP SP Roger Clemens - Nobody likes to pick on Roger, but if the guy wants to play the role of a prima donna every year, he back that up with numbers. The 1st ballot HOFer was a big let down from the early expectations.
SP Dontrelle Willis - No magically run for Florida. The young gun rotation's sheriff ran out of bullets this year.
SP Barry Zito - One hundred and how many million? Bawhaha! First Zito, than re-upping Bonds at a price no one else would have given him. The Giant's GM next job should be asking me whether I want leaded or unleaded gas.
SP Chris Capuano - Solid #2 lefty for the Brew Crew to mop up duty.
SP Jason Jennings - It's funny how Colorado pitchers either come and go and have vasty different effects pitching in different ballparks. Maybe the Rockies kept the temperature up in the humidifier when Jennings was with them in '06.
SP Jose Conteras - Leading the majors in losses. An ERA around 6, and a whip around 1.70. He single handled killed your pitching staff if you kept waiting on him to turn it around.
CP Eric Gagne - Texas would have given this guy the job for the next 5 years if he could have proven his worth. Now he's looking at MR role to finish out his career.
CP Mariano Rivera - From one of the top 5 closers to a fantasy afterthought.
CP Armando Benitez - SF gives up on him with no viable closer on the roster. Pretty much traded for a bucket of used balls.
