Just took a quick look at Lewis' stats since Billick took over and I thought I'd post them up here.
First 6 games under Fossil OC:
97 carries, 352 yards, 1 TD
3.6 ypc
16 carries per game
.25 TDs per game
41.2 fantasy points* (.42 fantasy points per carry if you want to make up a stat)
Last 4 games with Billick play-calling:
93 carries, 317 yards, 4 TD
3.4 ypc
23 carries per game
1 TD per game
56 fantasy points* (.6 fantasy points per carry)
The Ravens are also 4-0 during that stretch.
So, while there hasn't been a huge improvement as far as the ypc is concerned, the one thing Billick is doing is getting Lewis the rock a lot more. Lewis owners can attest to the fact that in the first half of the season, it seemed like the Ravens would get down to the goal line a lot, and either throw to Todd Heap or Musa Smith would be in or something. As evident by the 3 TD's yesterday, while that certainly will not happen every game, at least Lewis is getting opportunities down there and has the HC/OC's confidence.
Just FWIW. He might not be as useless as we looked to be at one point. I'd like to take credit for holding on to him in most leagues but the truth is no one would give up anything for him so I didn't have much of a choice.
Also FYI, Baltimore's remaining schedule:
Pittsburgh (8th against the run)
Cincinnati (21)
Kansas City (16)
Cleveland (28)
Pittsburgh (8th)
Buffalo (25)
Looks pretty playable for that 3 game stretch of Cincy, KC, and Cleveland, but try not to rely on him for fantasy championship weekend against Pittsburgh.
