He's not going to be available in the latter part of the 4th unless it's a 6 team league. Once people see him in pre-season he'll be going in the 2nd.
CMJ,I know you're a big Jacobs proponent - Anything you want to add to the case for optimism?
I've probably said too much already... But I did have a couple thoughts listening to the Podcast:Jacobs is NOT a "situational runner". He has been used situationally because of who was in front of him not because he isn't a complete player. In his first season the 2.6 YPC had everything to do with how and when he was used. He was used strictly in (obvious) short yardage/ goal line situations. He wasn't used outside the tackles or in the passing game so defenses new what was coming. What we saw last year wasn't so much a "new approach" as it was him just getting more opportunities. He has already shown natural hands, elusiveness in the back field (see the NE game especially), cut back ability and an ability to run the stretch play (see TB especially). People are making too much of the "stamina" question. He's 24 years old! He has low mileage. He's been working out with Tiki's trainer Joe Carini to make sure he's ready to handle the load. Sigmund you are on to something when you say he "changes the approach of defenses and puts them on their heels". Defenses will have to game plan for him in a way they never did for Tiki. (Tiki was great but he didn't scare defenses). He will create opportunities in the pass game especially off of play action.Garafalo's point about Bradshaw is a valid one. If he doesn't contribute on special teams he may not dress. However I think he's way off describing Droughns as 1b. He's gonna be a 2. Gilbride has said they expect Jacobs to be "the guy". (The tone/ context of the Gilbride interview has been badly misinterpreted btw. If you actually watch it many of the supposed "questions" come of much less negative).Anyway, great job. Keep up the good work!
