"Cadillac"...basically explained that the forced action of a 6th round rookie had defenses playing 8 and 9 in the box. This season that will get turned around it appears.

Michael Clayton...his rookie year was padded because of Galloway being out. He has to do better this season or he will lose his job. I personally think better QB play will push him up into the 50+ catch area.

Jeff Garcia/Chris Simms...Flynn feels like if Simms were to win the job he has a very short leash. Either way Garcia will see significant action.

Bryant...basically brought in and looked at because they could. No cost to look at the guy.

Gruden...on the hot seat sort of. Would have to be a terrible season and also a pretty strong coach waiting in the wings to oust Gruden.

Nice job guys.

I liked what he had to say about Darby:

"Impressive", "Shows that he can be a complete back"

Hopefully he can play some special teams for now.

Thanks for the hook up guys!

Darby had a subpar 2006, but Gruden said he thinks Darby was distracted. I didn't believe in him, but I have taken notice with Gruden and now Flynn's comments.link

“He’s an outstanding receiver,” said Gruden. “He’s a very instinctive runner, and I think when the pads are put on you’re going to find a guy who knows how to play. I believe he had some real problems with his dad’s health last season, and there were some things off the field that really distracted him, but this is a good football player. He’s a great kid. I think he’s witnessed the heat a little bit down here, and he feels like he’s got to get into a lot better shape. But we’re happy to have him.”

As a Darby owner, and as a human being, I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt concerning last year. I'd probably have a hard time concentrating on football too if a loved one was sick. I'm hoping that he'll rededicate himself with this new opportunity he's been given and make the most of it.We all act differently to adversity...some of us step up, and some of us disappear.

I have to admit, I never saw any of his games, but I liked everything I read about him. There was really very little negatives on him...seemed people were reaching for something negative to say about him in the player bios.

Once again thanks for the insight guys.

Much appreciated.

*eta*

Any chance we can get him bumped up in the dynasty rankings? :lmao: :lmao:

Caddy dynasty owners should definitely give this a listen. I was also surprised at what Jim had to say about David Boston.

Surprised he didn't mention much about the O-line. The addition of Sears, and Petitgout should significantly help Caddy. Also, Joseph was hurt at the beginning of 06, but started looking like he can be a top OG in this league by the end of the season. If Buenning can make a successful transition to center, this could be a good line.

I was a bit alarmed at how quickly and decisively JF said he could not rule out durability issues being of one of the main reasons for Caddy's struggles last year.

Right Bloom. He shared a backfield with ROnnie Brown in college...another guy that has not lived up to the hype yet either...maybe Miami brough in Booker to make Brown feel more like he was in college. I think the Bucs should have had a better RB2 in their camp or rotate Caddy and Pittman much more often...Gruden blew him out in his 1st 4 games as a rookie...ridiculous.

On a side note, have you noticed how horrendous the class of 2005 has been thus far in the NFL? Check out the top 10:
Code:
1 San Francisco Alex Smith QB Utah 2 Miami Ronnie Brown RB Auburn 3 Cleveland Braylon Edwards WR Michigan 4 Chicago Cedric Benson RB Texas 5 Tampa Bay Carnell Williams RB Auburn 6 Tennessee Adam Jones CB West Virginia 7 Minnesota Troy Williamson WR South Carolina 8 Arizona Antrel Rolle CB Miami 9 Washington Carlos Rogers CB Auburn 10 Detroit Mike Williams WR Southern California
Of course, Ware, Merriman and Jamaal Brown begin to redeem the class at 11-13, but still, what a terrible year to have a top 10 pick!
