The Audible - interview with Rhonda Moss (1 Viewer)

Cecil, you do a GREAT JOB, but living in KC I am not much a Rhonda Moss fan...to each their own, but I deplore some here journalistic tactics.

There are only maybe 2-3 media types here in KC that I DO like, so maybe that is my problem.

I keep in contact with Rhonda Moss and Adam Teicher throughout the year. What's your take on AT?

As a KC native I would say Teicher is more respected than Rhonda Moss in the local media. Moss has burned more than a few bridges here in KC with both the players and management with the Chiefs and the Royals. Her claim to fame was when the Royals pulled her press credentials back in 2006, (which in all actuality was really kind of funny) but it did help her jump more into the national spotlight a lot quicker. The main difference from my perspective is Teicher reports stuff without the flair and his personal bias unlike Moss. Moss in my opinion shares her opinion more vocally and lets it be seen in her news reporting. Two conflicting styles of journalism neither bad nor good just different.

Cecil, this guys nailed it.....I loathe how "reporting" today has devolved into speculation and throwing crap against a wall and seeing what sticks. She was the one who said a year ago that Harrington had signed in KC....and stuck bny it EVEN WHEN HE SIGNED ELSEWHERE lol :blackdot:Another episode with the Royals is when she was caught on her hands and knees listening through a door to a meeting with Royals brass regarding former GM Allard Baird. The levels she will stoop to are amazing. The way she approaches players is that she already has in her mind what the answer to the question "should be" and grills a player till he says what she wants to hear or until the person goes off on her or ends the interview.Adam Teicher, on the other hand, is top-notch. Is he a little too negative? Yeah. I rarely ever see him characterize anything the Chiefs do in a positive light. Even on good signings/draft picks, he always seems to have skeptical attitude. Maybe that is what makes him good, but IMO it is okay to be positive sometimes and be a well-respected journalist.

I really like the audible.

But before I quit sports radio after the super bowl, I had to listen to a lot of Rhonda Moss because 610 sports was my station... and she's horrid.

That station lost all credibility once they let DA go to Miami.
