I've been thinking a lot lately about QB2 strategies for this year and I have a two part question on the subjectFirst of all, I've noticed that there are a lot of former first round pick quarterbacks with QB1 upside who are being drafted as solid QB2's. Carson Palmer, Josh Freeman, Sam Bradford, Joe Flacco, and Christian Ponder all fit this criteria. Which (if any) of these guys is most likely to reach or come close to that upside for fantasy owners this year?Another strategy I've used in the past has been to draft the actual backup of my QB1 knowing that if he goes down I have a solid replacement. Last year I used this strategy to back up Matt Stafford with Shaun Hill knowing I had a likely top 10 option in the Lions pass first offense if the injury bug found Stafford again. Are there any other backups besides Hill who could be solid options if the starter went down (Brian Hoyer is the only one that comes to mind for me)? Thanks for the great show guys!'Cecil Lammey said:http://blogtalkradio.com/theaudible All Q's welcome!
Kyle Orton backing up Romo. Also Webb backing up Ponder come to mind. Also like Josh Johnson or Kaepernick backing up Alex Smith.I've been thinking a lot lately about QB2 strategies for this year and I have a two part question on the subjectFirst of all, I've noticed that there are a lot of former first round pick quarterbacks with QB1 upside who are being drafted as solid QB2's. didn't get to this one, but VERY good question we'll talk about on next week's show! Can you name a few guys in new situations that you would/wouldn't draft? Situations like new coordinators, teams or supporting cast? How about naming a few of last years disappointments that you would gamble on to bounce back and out produce their adp?
'Denarius Moore is another one up there with AJ Green in terms of physical talent' thanks Matt! This line alone made listening worth while. Im even higher on Moore now.'Sabertooth said:Which receivers in the NFL have more talent than AJ Green? I can think of only two.
I have Moore as my 5th wideout right now on a dynasty squad. Not sure he's still sitting in that spot by the end of the year.'Denarius Moore is another one up there with AJ Green in terms of physical talent' thanks Matt!
