Hey guys, in my 16 team non-PPR redraft, our 2nd RB slot just turned into a flex (RB/WR/TE). We count return yards, so the pool of useful WRs is bigger than other leagues. A lot of smart people this year have been espousing going RB-RB in the first two rounds, but in a league like this -- especially drafting late (15th) -- would you endorse taking a non-top 4 QB or one of the superstar TEs with one of my first two picks? Need some CLARITY.

Thanks!

Mr. D

I have had success drafting with upside-down drafting and standard Rb,RB drafting.

I am kind of thinking of just targeting 3 must have's and then filling the rest with value.

My must haves are Gates, Donald Brown, and Peyton Hillis. All PPR leagues.

Do you guys have any must haves...I know it is still early but maybe you can give one away.

Is it too early in the year for Fantasy Court? I want to know about the unresolvable arguments you guys are having behind the scenes. :boxing:

Seattle qbs- Flynn and Wilson.

Isn't the most likely scenario here that Flynn plays steady for the next couple years and russel Wilson remains that "Michael turner" kind of guy who will be 3 years before he gets his shot. Barring injury I just don't see his relevance for awhile. What u guys thinking

Three Amigos are the best. Keep Truckin'

How do you approach drafts with shallow roster limits? With less opportunities to stash flyers how should I adjust my draft targets.

Ie.

12 Teamer

Draft roster limit max 4 RBs. max 4 WRs.

Start

2RB

2WR

No Flex

Hate this rule. But it is, what it is.

Thanks guys. Wish we had news and notes twice a week!

I've drawn the 6th pick in my 12 team main PPR league and I'm having some trouble formulating a strategy. It's a 6 point per passing touchdown league so I'm assuming the first 5 picks will be rice, foster, McCoy, Rodgers, Brady. As much as I love Calvin Johnson, I know I don't want to go receiver that early so I'm stuck between guys like Brees, stafford, McFadden, Murray, and graham. Any thoughts?

Thanks as always guys!

8 quick over/unders. please take about 20 seconds each to elaborate on your answer.

1. Eric Decker 85 catches

2. Peyton Hillis - 1100 total yards, 8 touchdowns

3. Doug Martin- 220 carries, 40 receptions

4. Reggie Wayne- 80 receptions

5. Julio Jones- 1200 receiving yards, 10 touchdowns

6. Carson Palmer- 3999 passing yards, 24 touchdowns

7. Ahmad Bradshaw- 10 touchdowns

8. Brandon Lloyd- 9 touchdowns

Thanks guys, keep rockin

Hey, love the show. Matt, under the assumption that all are healthy and not suspended (Leshoure), can you rank the top 15 running backs that are either rookies or in their second year in a PPR Dynasty format, based mainly on talent, upside, and situation? Thanks guys and keep up the great work.

If Dr. Bramel is checking in I'd like to know more about the Ryan Mathews, Dez Bishop, Pat Angerer and Isaac Redman situations (I am assuming you'll talk about Ronnie Hillman whether I ask or not ;) ) - Who benefits?

What's the skinny on the QB battles, Locker/Hasselbeck, Flynn/Wilson, Kolb/Skelton (did I miss some)? Should we care - is there value to be had?

With SEA signing Edwards and T.O. does that mean something for Sidney Rice or does it mean that no SEA WR will break 40/600 this year?

What can we expect from Adrian Peterson now he is cleared to play?

I'll shut up and listen now!

I have the 11th pick in a 12 team PPR redraft, with a standard flex position. League is pretty much casual players, no major sharks. Pretty sure the guy at 12 won't take Graham or Gronk, and I am considering taking both back to back in rounds 1-2. My strategy, if I pull the trigger, is to grab two of Sproles/Gore/Wilson at the 3-4 turn, and roll with a Ryan/Rivers etc. and later round WRs.

Do you think it's a viable strategy in general, but in particular in a guppy league?

Percy Harvin, Miles Austin, Torry Smith and Marcus Colston are wr's I feel can have top-12 seasons. Amusing reasonable health is there any case you can make for or against them giving where they are being drafted?

RGIII demanded extra attention being a run threat his whole college career. Sort of like Tebow in Denver this allowed a lot of 1-on-1 coverage with his WR's all over the field. Who's is the guy in Washington that will benefit the most from single coverage? being his Kendall Wright so to speak. And what's "that guys" upside/floor?

FBG should stand for FootBallGreatest!

I know you guys will have an awesome show. Will be hanging around the chatroom tonight (SaF)

Need help with a question. Is Roy Helu Jr. worth an 8th round keeper in a 12 team PPR league? I wouldn't take any Washington RB myself, but is the value good?

If not, should I keep Greg Little or Denarius Moore with my 8th?

Thanks again! Will hear from you tonight

That's ROCK AND ROLL!

I've got my money league draft coming up which has a QB flex spot (QB/WR/RB/TE) and rewards big plays with bonuses (escalated points for big yardage, long TDs, etc)

What players would you upgrade or downgrade based on this format?

Also, the QB spot is a little weird as you are only allowed to carry 2 on your roster despite being able to start 2, meaning 8 QBs are on the WW every week. Would this change your drafting strategy at all, and if so, how?

Last question: Cec, have you been coaching up Bloom on his radio voice?

Hey guys, great job as always. I'm pretty sure this is a no-brainer, but wanted to get your take on my keeper question. 12 team standard keeper league (start 2 RBs, 2 WRs, 1 TE, 1 RB/WR flex, 1 QB). Can keep 1 guy only and lose draft pick. Who would you keep?

Cam Newton 6th

Lynch 5th

Mathews 4th

Gronk 8th

Calvin 1st

I have the 12th pick in the first round. Thanks.

Rob

When is it too high to take Julio in a 10 team, Start 3 WR/TE, Bonus for TD length, No yards but bonus at 100 yards rec/rush (250 pass for QB) type league? I've got the 5th spot and have thought about Julio over the likely Lynch/Matthews/Charles type back that will be there in round 2.

At current ADP who are the three guys you should walk away with in every league?

Love the show guys, especially love the extra touches like the lightning sounds on the FFPC ads, classic!

You guys are the best.

.5ppr / TE's are lumped in with WR's

Who are your best WR2's, based upon current ADP, that you think are can break into WR1

Any WR3's, based upon current ADP, that could be knocking on the door of WR1, if any?

You guys told us about Ray Rice a couple years ago, who is your pick for the "Ray Rice award" this year (any position).

Thanks for your entertaining work and can I get me some Dr. Roxo! kekeke yeaya!

Hey guys, I don't think enough is covered concerning 2qb start leagues. I have the 2nd pick and am debating between a qb and foster. By the time I pick again at 23 I'm expecting the top 11 qbs to be off the board. It's standard scoring ( no ppr). What would u suggest? Ty

Hey Guys

Lets talk about Micheal Vick.

Last year Vick was the darling of the draft. He was even tossed about as the first QB to draft, and even the first player to be drafted in round one. He had a year where he got hurt and had the lock out.

Now he has had a full training camp and is healthy. Every player is one hit away from being injured so lets look at him on a even scale of health with everyone else.

Why is he not getting near the love he got last year when, if he plays a full schedule he could easily place in the top 4 QB. He is actually in a better position to out perform 2010 because of the emergence of Maclin and Celek and the possible maturing of Jackson. Add in McCoy to take those little tosses 20 and 30 yards a pop and that 500 rushing yards.

He looks like a guy who will score right there with Brees and Stafford.

Is it just the injury risk cause I think this guy can win a championship for a fantasy team.

Have a general strategy question: About 1/3 of the owners in one of my dynasty leagues are extremely hesitant when it comes to trading, and tend to reject 99% of trade offers with no counter, no questions, and no comment. Any suggestions for working with reluctant traders? I hate to just give up on them, so any crazy, out of the box ideas would be welcome.

This is for Gene. Which kinds of injuries are ones that linger all year and hamper player performance, and which are ones from which a player is truly "ready" once he has recovered?

Cecil, Sigmund, Matt, Mark, Luke or John.................. I am in a 16 team keeper idp league ppr=1 1qb 2rb 2wr 1flex=(rb,wr,te). NO TE EXCEPT IN FLEX and are not lumped in with WR. TD=6 pts run, catch, or thrown. With all this going on where would you value getting a TE?

FYI... I will be keeping either McFadden or Peterson.

Could you discuss the Tennessee WR situation? It seems like Nate Washington keeps falling in my drafts and I just can't wrap my head around it

Bloom, you were on the money with your pick of Hakeem Nicks as your breakout player two seasons ago. Last season, Mark Ingram let you down. Who are your breakout specials this year??

I have a keeper question, I don't have a lot of keepers worth keeping to choose from, but here they are:

12 team PPR league

1 QB, 1 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 Flex(RB,WR), PK, Def I also have the 2nd pick of the draft.

If I keeper players from the same round one of them is bumped up a round.

Julio Jones 2nd

Aaron Hernandez 4th

Peyton Hillis 11th

Ridley 14th

Austin Collie 9th

Danny Amendola 14th

49ers D 12th

I listened to your colts preview and sig was really down on brown.. He seems like he has a real chance to be a complete back this year... Do you really think he is not a solid sleeper pick This year?

in a couple dyno startups. lucky to have foster but tate goes earlier than i would've guessed in dynasty. Is he worth paying a high price tag for as a cuff? Afraid of paying alot thinking in a couple years I'll have two high end starters and him ending up in a michael bush situation rather than turner years ago.

In a league where we start 1QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1TE, I DEF, and 1PK is it necessary to fill your starting spots for the WRs before getting a 3rd RB? I was listening to another podcast (felt like I was cheating on you guys lol) and they said with the extra starting spot at WR it's crucial to get those filled before a 3rd RB. I tend to disagree, but wanted y'alls input.

Thanks...

My league added one keeper this year and they must be drafted in the 6th round or later. You can keep them for 2 more drafts losing 2 rounds each year. Who should I target late that might not do much this year but could change teams or take over next year. 12 team ppr league. 16 rounds, 1 qb, 2 rb, 2 wr, 1 rb/wr, 1 te, d, k.

Can you touch on the rookie rbs?

When trying to seperate the elite from the good we hear and see players like Aaron Rodgers and Adrian peterson and their incredible drive to be the best so my question is are their any rookies with the physical skill and second to none work ethic that could become the head of this class of rookies?

i would go with stud QB in the first round for sure. also maybe a big play WR in the 2nd or 3rd. upgrade pierre garcon, mike wallace, desean jackson, and torrey smith. go for an upside backup QB like locker or luck a round or two early. would still want upside at QB, no change in strategy.im not sure what to think of that last question... almost like when someone asks you if you've lost weight.

with long TD bonus. thats not crazy, especially if its start 2 RB, no flex, PPR.

list is very long for both re: breakout WR, the position is just very deep this year - really like pierre garcon in that WR2/WR3 range, and of course lloydno clear Ray Rice this year, but I do like jacquizz rodgers a lot.

take a QB

i wont argue with vick in the 4th. i agree that he'll produce with any QB in the league while healthy. offseason is going to help him tremendously.

give them choices - work out framework of trade via emails instead of offers. ask them "who do you value more" questions to get them to commit to valuations before offers.

hmm thats tough b/c only 12-14 TEs are likely flexworthy. i would probably say only a guy like rudolph or celek who could greatly outperform ADP late. Dont like drafting a flex too early and 16 teams means you need to those starters settled at QB/RB/WR while you can

Could you discuss the Tennessee WR situation? It seems like Nate Washington keeps falling in my drafts and I just can't wrap my head around it
all seem like values right now even 12-14 games of 75% of usual britt is worth a 8thwashington is a solid 10th rounder, although i like collie better there.wright in the 12th is a good upside pick.i think we'll see all three of them on the field together a lot.Locker emerging as starter only helps.

Bloom, you were on the money with your pick of Hakeem Nicks as your breakout player two seasons ago. Last season, Mark Ingram let you down. Who are your breakout specials this year??
off the top of my headQB -ryan/rg3/luck/lockerRB - rodgersWR - tyoung/cobb/vbrown/sandersTE - rudolph

when i interview colts beat writer george bremer tonight, he said brown lead back in RBBC, they will all be used. just think if brown was gonna break out, we would have seen it by now. prefer kevin smith around same point in draft.

depends on who else is there, but i wouldnt go overboard. wouldnt take him over say David Wilson

disagree. WR is deep enough that i would be fine with getting a 3rd RB before a 3rd WR, even without a flex position.
