***The Audible LIVE*** 9/6/2012 10PM ET (1 Viewer)

Hey guys...you've been helping me stack up fantasy wins for a LONG time. Cecil, I love the new FBGTV stuff. Hopefully we can get Bloom on there with you at some point this season to reprise the old 5 Minute Drill. I'd also love to see Matt and Dr. Jene on the 'tube at some point as well.

I suffered a CATASTROPHIC auction gaffe this year and I left myself with a monumental task to field a competitive team this season. This is a 12-team non-IDP, redraft league with 17-man rosters; scoring is "normal" 0.5 PPR (4pt passing TD, no TE bonuses, etc.); start 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 WR/TE flex, 1 defense, 1 PK.

In the early stages of my league's online auction, I inadvertantly spent 92% of my budget on Aaron Rodgers. I was attempting to enter a $50 bid (against a $200 budget), but I fat-fingered an extra zero. The system took my $500 bid and rounded it down to the max bid which would allow me to fill out my roster, which was $184. Needless to say, this was enough for me to get ARod (since no one could outbid me) and I was left to fill out my other 16 spots with $1 players. The saddest part is that I really had my heart set on TB6K at QB this season.

It's not quite as bleak as it might sound. Due to early overspending by many of my leaguemates, some surprisingly decent players were available for the minimum. Here's what my team currently looks like:

[*]QB: Rodgers, RG3 (yeah, for a buck!)

[*]RB: Benson, Ingram, Jacquizz, Royster, Hunter, Powell

[*]WR: Sidney Rice, LaFell, Little, Baldwin, Collie

[*]TE: Rudolph, Keller

[*]PK: Akers

[*]Def: Patriots

Obviously I came out pretty well set at QB, but my RB and WRs are well below par -- lot's of "what the heck flex" types. I've explored the possibility of trading Rodgers for either a high-end RB or WR or a package of RB2/WR2 types, but so far I haven't found a partner who will provide anywhere near fair value. So, my strategy is just watch for injuries and to grab as many boom/bust guys as I can and hope that a couple of them hit. I'd be happy with even a "fool's gold" guy or two that I might be able to sell high on.

So, can you guys offer some names of players that may be available who I should be looking for? Which guys on my squad would you be likely to dump? One possibile pick-up is Kevin Ogletree -- is it more likely he's Laurent Robinson or Frisman Jackson? Other guys I'm considering who are available: Alfred Morris, Jahvid Best, Steve Smith (StL), Jerome Simpson (dropped him for Collie), Stephen Hill, David Nelson, Josh Gordon and Manny Sanders. In short, who are some potential "lightning in a bottle" type of pickups?

Sorry for the long-winded question, but this team needs a LOT of help. You guys ROCK! (THAT'S Rock and Roll)

Looks like this was covered in the week 1 previews so feel free to skip...

How many weeks will it take to figure out the impact of the Bensons, Ridleys, , Royster/Helus, etc...

Will we know by Tuesday or do we need all of September to figure it out?

Please take about 30 seconds each to discuss each of these 4 topics

Topic 1: What do we take away from Victor Cruz's performance last night:

A: He had some problems with drops last year, and it's possible this may be a problem again this year. His drops coupled with maybe Bennett or someone else stepping up could leave Cruz as a lower end wr2.

B: He had 11 targets and got open a lot. Once he cleans up his drops, he will be a borderline wr1.

C: some other angle.

Topic 2: Dez Bryant once again had a monster 1st half and a bad 2nd half. He only had 5 targets though.

A: We looking at a repeat of last year,

B: We should be encouraged by his production on only 5 targets

C: Too early to tell

Topic 3: Will Martellus Bennet become a low end TE1?

Topic 4: I don't have a kicker on my roster yet. Depending on if Mathews is out or not and whether or not I can reserve him, I will need to drop 1-2 players to get one. Here are my choices, name the top 2 you would drop: LeShoure, Burleson, Alfred Morris. I also have JacQuizz, Ben Tate, Peyton Hillis, and Ryan Williams on my bench, but I doubt they are droppable. Who would you choose?

Thanks guys!

Is MJD at least a flex play in PPR or keep him on the bench this week? And how are Richardson and JStew shaping up for this week, what can we expect from them?

Answer either one you want. Or both

Dynasty PPR- I own ADP and Turbin, Lynch owner has Gerhart. He offered a swith handcuff trade and I rejected as I think Gerhart is a temporary fill in while Turbin could have upside and I need youth with potential.

My other RBs are SJax, Gore, McGahee, Quizz, Morris. Good move or take the trade for Gerhart?

1 more question:

I can get Jimmy Graham and Stevan Ridley for Ryan Mathews and Fred Davis. PPR league, 1 pt for everyone (no bonus for te's).

My rb's would be Foster, Hillis, Ridley...JacQuizz Tate RyanWilliams A.Morris on the bench.

Should I pull the trigger?

Also it's a 2 player keeper. So consider I'd be keeping Foster/Mathews or Foster/Graham

ARE YOU READY FOR MORE FOOTBALL?!?!? Sorry...had to get that out!

I recently ended up with Kenny Britt in my 10 team, 4 person keeper PPR as my #4 WR behind Mega (keeper), Stevie Johnson and D-jax. I think Britt has the highest upside but the projections for him on almost every site seem to vary quiet a bit. What can I expect from Britt after his 1 game suspension and how do you see his season playing out assuming he doesn’t get hurt or stopped at a military base

Thanks again guys!

Wassup fellas! Great to have football and you guys back once again..

With Adrian Peterson not looking like a great play I need a FLEX between Ronnie Brown, Evan Royster, and Alfred Morris.

Also, should I drop Santonio Holmes for Amendola or Santana? NYJ passing attack is WACK.

Thanks!!

Guys I am as jacked up as a certain Rock n' roll clown for the new season!

Quick story, I was at the NFL draft party at Lavo in NYC, the night before the draft. I hung out with Melvin Ingram for a few minutes, shook hands with Trent Richardson, and got a photo with RGIII.

However my two biggest memories of the night was Blackmon was NOT drinking and that I ran into a guy from Bleacher Report. I told him how smart of a move it was to hire the best analyst in the nation, Sigmund Bloom. I had a few pops in me so I'm sure I motor boated Bloom a little too much. Anyway...

Who has better opportunity ths week?

Sjax or Hillis?

Redman is hurt and while Mendenhall reports are positive, he's 8 months removed from a torn ACL. Isn't it possible for Jonathan Dwyer to run away with the feature back job. Esp where Mendenhall may not even be part of the Steelers future as a free agent next year?

How much Value does Gerhart and DeAngelo Williams have this week if AP and Daily Show is limited or a no go? I love the Carolina run game vs the TB run D this week and Gerhart is a Stud. What big names would you start them two over?

I'd love it if The Audible could get into a Dez Bryant discussion.

I've owned Dez in a dynasty league since his rookie season, and I am really growing tired of all the hype. I hear experts say that Dez is as talented as guys like Calvin Johnson. But in Detroit, you don't have Nate Burleson going for 100 yards and two TDs every other game. Johnson is a dominant player that almost always gets his numbers.

Watching last night's game, it looks just like last year when Laurent Robinson had his monster season. Dez is a physical specimen, but he remains nothing more than a decoy. Now, I don't think the Giants were prepared for Ogletree. It's possible that in week 2 or 3 Seattle and Tampa will not allow Ogletree to kill them the way that NY did.

But if you're a Dez owner, look me in the eye and tell me that last night didn't feel exactly like the same ol' Dez: a tease that will never become a dominant player.

Cecil - "Ronnie Hillman" wtf? I trusted you and THIS is what you deliver? All kidding aside, what is your honest take on Hillman over this season and beyond? Do you want to back off the Lesean McCoy comparison, or double down?

1. What's up with Ronnie Hillman being listed 4th on the depth chart? Behind Moreno!? EGADS!

2. Who would you start... RB TEN Chris Johnson at home vs NEP -or- WR ARI Larry Fitzgerald at home vs SEA? I've got Chris Johnson in my lineup currently. Any reason to change that?

Thanks.

Glad to have the old in-season Audible back! I was wondering if you could talk about Adrian Peterson some. A few weeks ago, the news was alarmingly positive and it sounded like he would be ready for week 1. Now that time has arrived, and it sounds like he will barely play this week despite MIN only having 2 RBs on the roster. I think its pretty clear he wont be a viable option this week, but what are your thoughts on his outlook for September as a whole?

I'm betting he's a scratch. Harvin is their other running back.

Also interested in this and, as of now, how you would rank the 3 RBs for their 2012 outlook as a whole.ETA: Gut feelings on each guy's week 1 usage would also be nice.

I second this. Would LOVE some in depth analysis.

It occurs to me that Bryant could be a top five WR somewhere like Miami - where the dearth of talent would require them to force the ball to Dez. But there are plenty of receiver options in Dallas, and Romo has proven that he's adept at spreading out the targets.

What is your thoughts on Dwyer? I have been vacillating on adding him, I need RB help (non ppr) but already have Alfred Morris, Shane Vereen and Ronnie Hillman...I dont have to cut anyone (Dropping Johnny White)...just wondering about adding another flier.

Thank you!

Hi guys. Could you talk about "tracking" multiple leagues? I've always had just one league, and it was a snap to keep track, to watch the waiver wire, to figure out trade alternatives. But with four now, it gets a little daunting to do them all justice. Any suggestions from you guys that are in lots and lots of leagues each year? Thanks!

Not to jump in but get the mobile apps for each league provider if you havent already. Makes it easier for me as I can monitor things throughout the day. Also set your "watch list" so you know who's available that you like in each league. Way easier than scrolling through the FA list all the time.

Thanks for all your help guys long time listener and i love the show...I wanted to get your take on a group of young running backs... how would you rank the following RBs from a keeper perspective? and also for this year?.. I have all these guys on my roster and am trying to determine who to hold, sell, or taxi squad...

1. Shane Vereen

2. Jonathan Dwyer

3. Robert Turbin

4. Jaquizz Rodgers

5. Vic Ballard

Could you guys really talk in detail about jake Locker and what he will realistically do this season as a starter in FF?

I did not follow his game in college and would be interested in some details on what he can do well and what he cannot do well and what progress he has made in those skill sets.

What can we really expect from him this year.

Thanks Guys

Hey guys, I'd like to mirror the above sentiment - could you talk in depth about Locker and his prospects for the year? I drafted strong at RB/WR/TE early and I'm shuffling between upside picks at QB in Josh Freeman and Jake Locker (waited too long and a run of backup qb's went off while waiting for my pick...ugh).

Who do you like more this week as well as long term (though I'm hoping I can trade Doug Martin for a better QB once Ryan Mathews is back and able to fill my flex spot).

Thanks,

The New guy who finally found the "chat room" (assuming of course this is the chat room you always refer to on the podcast)

A few quick hitters for you all tonight!

Jay Cutler or Phillip Rivers AND RG3 or Jake Locker (6 pt td, -2 pt picks)

Stevie Johnson, Justin Blackmon, Kyle Rudolph (PPR, bench 1)

Steve Smith (Car) or AJ Green (PPR)

Peyton Hillis or Dwayne Bowe (STD, non-ppr)

Thanks as always for all you guys do!

Hey guys, always love the show. I have a lineup dilemma:

If Lynch is a GTD at 4:15, would you start Hillis at 1:00?

Or would you put Lynch at the flex, start maclin and have torrey smith on the bench as the only possible sub for Mr back spasms?

Right now(12 team/std scoring) I have:

RB Lynch/s Jackson

WR Nicks/t smith

flex Ridley

Bench Hillis/Maclin

Your expert opinions would be most appreciated.

Hello, this question is for Sigmond. You have been talking up Lloyd at Wr for the better part of a month and then you have him ranked at WR39 in your ppr week one projections. Please explain

An owner just dropped Kendall Hunter in my dynasty league, we can keep 6RBs. I really want to pick Hunter up, but I would have to drop Isaiah Pead. I thought it was a no-brainer at first, but once I took a look at the FBGs consensus dynasty RB rankings, they have Pead higher than Hunter which caught me by surprise. Just wanted your opinion on who you believe is the better of the two to own in a dynasty. Really enjoy all the podcasts you guys put out, I have probably listened to 99.9% of them over the last 5 or 6 years, keep putting them out and looking forward to listening to Sigmund's new podcast.

Hey guys..love the show..

Couple of questions here but theyre both for the same team

First FGPC team here:

Here's my team:

Romo,Peyton

Rice,Sproles,Sjax,Hillis,Lmiller,Bpowell

Colston,Collie,Amendolla,Burlson,Hankerson,James Jones,Criner

FDavis,celek

Crosby

Lions

1)Collie,Danny A or Tampa Mike at WR2

(Im starting Rice,Sproles and then Sjax and Hillis in the Flex spots..so after Colston I need 1 WR)

2)Im planning on dropping Criner for Ogletree..Sigmund says 20-25% BB..Bloom..after seeing my weakness at wr,does that change your mind at all?

The intro to On The Couch sounds like it's from Miles' In a Silent Way

Is this Sigmund's selection? All the Dead Heads at my art school had great taste in free jazz. Jerry Garcia a gateway drug to deeper jazz cuts?

Thoughts?
