The Cheatsheet as Brett Favre # 5 (1 Viewer)

What am i missing ? #5 against Phiand Frye #16 against Oak
You're missing that Favre is a Hall-of-Fame QB coming off his second straight 340 yard, 3-TD game, and Frye is a confused youngster who's thrown just two TDs and 5 INTs in 3 games.Or do you think Favre should be rated higher and Frye lower?

Philly has given up big points to fantasy QBs. Oakland, to this point, has not and seems to be improved on defense.

I just think favre is going up against a good def. and frye is playing oak. i just noticed that favre has a tough time aganisted a good def

The Eagles are not a good defense and have three DB's listed as Questionable or worse on the injury report, including Brian Dawkins, Lito Sheppard, and Roderick Hood.Favre may have his best day yet this season.

I'm an Eagles fan that is starting Favre this week. The Eagles secondary is in bad shape and GB should be playing from behind. I think most teams will have much more success throwing on the Eagles than trying to run the ball on them this season. Plus I seem to remember that Favre is gold on MNF.Willie

You guys talk me in to it am starting Favre,

Whod'athunk that I would be starting THREE PACKERS this week (Ahman, Driver and Jennings)

Crazy talk. But true.

Old man Favre is getting the call over Hasselbeck, these moves usually backfire on me, but I can't root against the Bears.

Me, too  After watching Eli throw on them two weeks ago, not so worried about Favre being able to on Monday night.
Eli lookoed lost against them for the large part of the game until Philly fell asleep behind the wheel. I don't like Favre's matchup at all this week. I think Philly will confuse his young Oline with blitz packages and he will be running for his life. I don't expect GB to make much of a game out of it either, so Philly will more than likely be able to just pin their ears back and go after him. I don't expect them to fall asleep behind the wheel a 2nd time at home none the less.

In my league scoring, Philly has the 26th worst pass defense. Favre is the 4th best QB. That is what we call a splendid matchup, well worth a #5 ranking.

If the Eagles don't have an early offensive explosion, you might be right. If they get up by a couple of TDs, you might see a repeat of Alex Smith and Eli Manning putting up stellar stats in comeback efforts.Favre also has a history of big games on MNF.

Favre, without the pressure of being a great team, on MNF, with a (for now) rejuvenated Ahman, a nice Javon replacement in Jennings and a line that seems to be doin ok at least - This could be a fun game to watch and Favre definately will love the spotlight.

So far this season, PHI has allowed

Carr had 208 and a TD with 25 rushing yards

Manning had 371 yards and 3 TD

Smith had 293 and a TD with 39/1 on the ground

They haven't exactly been shutting QBs down so far . . .

Pretty much all of those numbers have come in the 2nd half when Philly has been shutting it down.

And that won't happen against GB because...?

It could, but I don't think they will because of what happend vs NYG. Really though, I get the feeling that Philly will be forcing TOs and in my leagues, they are heavily penalized.

The Eagles have forced exactly 3 turnovers in 3 games. Those games included David Carr and Alex Smith at QB.

Smith we know practically nothing about so far. Carr does not throw a lot of INTs though. The most he has ever thrown in a season is only 15. Favre has thrown 15 or more the past 9 straight years and averages 19 over that span. He is a gunslinger. Sometimes it's great, sometimes it's not.

The Eagles have also lost Jevon Kearse for the season when his knee tore apart. Kearse had 3.5 of the teams' 16 sacks before going down, and the pass rush has suffered with him not being in there, IMO. The seccondary is very banged up as noted above and hasn't been very strong since 2004, IMO. In 2005 they were 21st vs. opposing passers in yards allowed and 26th in passing TDs allowed. Link: This year they are averaging 252.7 net passing yards allowed per game through 3 weeks. That's 26th in the NFL to date. Link:

Its a preliminary sheet, give it time.FBG makes the right call 90%+ in my

3-4 years of hangin' around here.
In the same preliminary cheatsheet, Eagles D is ranked #5 for the week. So, either the rankings are contradictory or FBG is counting on a decent turnover night for the Eagles D.
You highlighted the wrong part of my statement.Try it again and re-read.

i just checked to confirm it, but my league does count points scored in the second half :phew:

that does seem odd but id bet when the actual projections take place they wont contradict itself

i don't follow, by "coasting" you mean the Eagles D was not trying their hardest to stop the opposing offense?

:goodposting: He's played in 30 MNF games (that's gotta be a record). Overall he has averaged 243 yards (completing 60% of his passes), with 1.9 TDs and 1.0 INTs.His recent averages haven't been that bad either (245/2.2/1.6 in his past 5 MNF appearances).

Favre is probably rated so high for reasons stated above. The Eagles have 5 injured DBs. Teams have taken advantage of their suspect passing D for 3 straight weeks now. Favre shouldn't much trouble flirting with another 300 yard performance. May even have a few TDs in there too.

A. Smith didn't looks as lost in the second half of last week's game. They must have made some adjustments. In fact, Smith would have looked MUCH better had it not been for boneheaded penalties.

My problem is I've got both Favre AND McNabb, and I can only start one...so this will be a really hard decision to make. :( Whichever one I start will most likely get outscored by the other, but if they both get around 300 yards and a couple of TDs it won't matter much.

It's correct already, teams throw against Philly because they have to and Pillly can't stop it. Teams run against Oakland because they just want to run out the clock. Oakland doesn't have an offense so they take a beating from teams running on them.If Reuben can't play move Frye up about 8 spots and make KW2 your #1 TE because he will be your short yardage option.

In the same preliminary cheatsheet, Eagles D is ranked #5 for the week. So, either the rankings are contradictory or FBG is counting on a decent turnover night for the Eagles D.
Are there still people that don't realize that Farve throws ints? He's gonna be throwing all day so isn't it a given that he'll throw more than normal? And before anyone says the int's are why they wouldn't play him. Would you take 5 TD's and 5 int's?

Even though they're "preliminary", no one is moving up or down 8-10 spots. The exact numbers may not be right, but the general rank of players usually stays pretty close to the same.
