The Detroit LIONS are the worst team in football... (1 Viewer)

Lions fans unite!!! :bag: :bag: :bag:

We have the worst team in the NFL. Raiders fans can make a case as well but for now I would argue that the Lions are the benchmark for the worst franchise in the league and maybe in professional sports.

It would only be fitting if Joey Ballgame threw for 5 TDs against us on Thanksgiving. I would be thankful for that. Maybe Millen would get fired before he wastes yet another draft pick on an empty uniform.

How long have we been saying this?I actually like some of the things Marinelli and Martz have done, but for the most part we have the same god-awful Millen-picked players as the last few years. On the good side, I was impressed with Dominic Raiola's tackle of Schlesinger today though. That's the hardest I've ever seen him hit anyone.

We watch it every year. Most depressing Thanksgiving game ever. Your old QB who was scapegoated comes a back to beat you the very next year in your stadium. Totally embarrassing.

But..but...martz is a genius.....with a HOF RB and HOF WR's. The guy totally sucks and his ability to recognize talent is ZERO. He did have a superbowl team dropped into his lap...he failed to win one with that team as a head coach. He sucks.

I would have to disagree that we are the worst team in the NFL. We have been missing alot of our key players (ie: Shaun Rogers, Shaun Cody, Rex Tucker, Ross Verba, Fernando Bryant, Kennoy Kennedy, James Hall, and now Kevin Jones) just to mention a few. It seems like everytime we get one player back, we get hit by more injuries. It is hard to get any kind of chemistry going with this type of constant rotation in a lineup. Granted...every team has injuries, but this year (as usual) the Lions are getting hit hard.

Secondly...in our first 6 games we "could have" won all but one (the Bears beat us handily). This is the sign of a bad team...we need to learn how to win those close games. But...we are in the game almost every week! I really think this team is moving in the right direction with Marinelli.

Our offense is above average when we have our skill positions healthy. We can put up points...it is just a matter of getting more consistent. The thing that puzzles me is....why are we not giving BMW a CHANCE to play in a real game situation???? Is he that bad????

I am not saying the Lions are a top team in the NFL...but they are definitely not the Worst. They are an average team...missing a few peices. Certainly should not be mentioned with the Raiders IMHO.

As for Joey...I still like him...but he is not a starting caliber NFL QB...

Did Jones get hurt today? How badly? I haven't seen any games all day.

2-8 and 10 points against the Cards. Go roll your eyes into the back of your head. He sucks.DB and QB playing the WR pos. The QB McCown lines up and stands there looking the wrong way as the ball is hiked and then when he sees the other WR running he realizes he should probably take off becasue the ball was hiked. Pure genius by Martz. Your idol.

Shaun Rogers is back next week - the Lions will beat Miami. They are nowhere near as bad as the raiders, but have had a ton of injuries. They've actually been fun to watch this year despite everything.

all your posts reek of ####... at least you're consistent

It would be nice if we could have a Lions thread without the rocket surgeon who thinks Mike Williams is the answer popping in to spout off his assinine opinion.

Getting Shaun Rogers back will help, but we're also seeing how important James Hall was to the Lions. I'd say Hall is easily one of the top five players on the team. The DL has gone from a strength to a weakness with those two out.

From what I've seen, I agree, and it feels like Marinelli and Martz have this thing going in the right direction even if it isn't showing up in the W column. But that was the mantra of the John L. Smith era at MSU, too. At some point you gotta win some ####### ballgames.

 I, too, like some of the things they have done. They still have a lot of work to go. But dear LORD when will they finally dump crappy-assed Millen?! Most pathetic GM EVER!

I was at the game today and at least there were Lions fans in the crowd with "Fire Millen" shirts on!

First and goal on the AZ 1 yd line. There's a timeout and except for 3 or 4 players everyone heads over to the 30 to huddle with Martz. Roy Williams does not. He instead walks over and is shooting the breeze, slapping ### and high fiving a few of the AZ players. WTF? Next thing we know it's 4th and goal from the 16 yard line.

The Lions will probably lose thursday, because Millen is sich a big idiot that he can't find his own ### with both hands and a flashlight, and Ford is even worse. I can't believe I'm wasting my NFL fandom on this pathetic excuse for a team.

Definition of Russian Roulette = trying to rely on a Lion or a Cardinal as a consistently reliable Fantasy starter.

That said, I can't plug in Leinart on the road next week, so I'm riding with Kitna and expecting to see McCown by halftime. :bag:

As for BMW, he probably can't help much, but he's doing ZERO not getting snaps. They can't cut him now without a cap hit, but for god's sake, at least try to showcase something on the hopes that you can get someone willing to trade you for him. Leaving him to sit and rot basically means you're not only leaving dead weight on the roster, but also wanting to guarantee a goose egg in place of last year's #1 pick.
